this is my first time buying an engagement ring, and i have been looking around for an 1.5-1.6 carat emerald cut in the 7200ish price range and came across this..

im a little hesitant on the 'H' color, and the EGL cert, but the table and depth seem reasonable.

is this a good value? would it go well with the setting?

the setting that i am thinking about is this:

with a .9 carat weight, H/VS

thanks much..

Are the proportions of the stone (meaning the 1:1.4 L/W) what you like?

Also, if H does not sound reassuring, how about G-VS2: both color and clarity should be a safe bet in this case, I think. For example, THIS.

But it doesn't have to be EGL either.

the ratio is fine for us...

i like all the aspect of the stone, but the color is the 'iffy' part..
of course, better color would be desired, but we are working on a limited budget here, so we need to make some sacrifices..

thanks for the input... ill keep looking around at other clarities...
