Newbie-confused about pear vs round brilliant

Hi guys,
Sorry I have been looking for posts on info for pear cut to no avail. I'm a complete novice. My boyfriends done the spontaneous propose with no ring thing but we haven't told anyone yet. Good thing is now I can help choose my ring Originally I've wanted a round brilliant cut but now I'm in love with photos I've seen of pear shape & am considering purchasing online. I'm a complete novice & am so confused by dimensions for and reqs for setting etc. I think I want 1-1.5 cts, min f colour & min Vs1. I'm worried the cut of a pear will give it less shine than the round? I know I need the be careful of the Bow tie effect but do I need to purchase a better qual diamond due to it being a pear?
Also considering buying off blue Nile but it seems people are split in two about them on here...
Also does it matter who certifies, eg is GIA most trustworthy? Im completely overwhelmed, am considering a burger ring lol please help!

I can say a pear WILL give less sparkle than a round, but you get the right one and it will sparkle.
It will look larger, more unique, and be cheaper per ctw.

thing is you cant be as specific with specs as you are with rounds. Theres more of an art and less of a science like it is with rounds. Id love to search. What shape of pear do you like?? Whats the budget??
