Newbie and Need advise

I'm new here but have been looking at older thread for help on buying an engagment ring for my girlfriend. Decided to go with Whiteflash ACA .847 carat, vs2, and I for the 4 C. https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3667385.htm

She likes the halo and criss cross look on the setting.

This cames out over a little over 8000 and I was wondering if this is a good engagment ring. Just looking for some insights and advise on this combo.

did she specifically request that Verragio setting? i would just hesitate spending half your budget on the setting unless she wants this one specifically.

I think the diamond is beautiful but would ask WF to take some pics at less magnification so I could take a realistic look at that inclusion

I personally wouldn't pay more for the setting than the diamond. As a woman, I would prefer a bigger diamond in a simple setting and I would consider upgrading the setting in the future
