Lorelei:
So under 10x maganification there is a small cloud in the diamond. They do not have it in there hands, but he wanted me to order in and they he can confirm if the brilliance is compromised. I assume that it would be, but how much is the question. Any advice you can provide would be appreciated? Should I look for another diamond. I think I am pretty much sold on Union Diamond.
Thanks again.
This stone, girdle is thick, will face up smaller than ideal, slightly too steep a pavilion for that crown angle, if IS is available then can determine if leakage is there or not.Date: 6/15/2009 12:04:58 PM

I am also looking at this one below:
Certificate: GIA (2101568075)
Carat: 0.74
This one definitely needs an Idealscope image to check out the angle combo for potential leakage, both crown and pavilion angles are too steep and deep in this case to be a good fit which can result in light leakage, thus what we call a steep deep.Date: 6/15/2009 12:04:58 PM

You guys are really helpful, thanks a lot. I really do not know if I should commit to the 0.77 stone, but it seems like excellent value. I think having the independant appraiser evaluate may be the best way to go. I will keep you posted.
No, GIA diamond dossier is fine, some prefer to have these rather than the full GIA report, they are less expensive than the full reports for the sellers. The stone will be indentifiable with an inscription as the GIA DD does not include a clarity map like the full reports.Date: 6/15/2009 7:10:13 PM

So I will be making the order on the diamond tomorrow (pic attached- not sure if this helps). Union Diamond rep talked to the dealer and there is a small feather on the side and also the cloud. The rep (who I trust - have talked to about 7 times and gotten to know) says he will personally visually inspect and give me his opinion. He has been in the industry for 30 years he said.
One thing he did say is that the diamond is GIA Dossier Rating. Should this concern me?
