Hi All,

Been awhile since I was on the site looking around. I started noticing some stones had sparkle videos (I think that's how they refer to them). I did a quick search on PS & nothing came up. Has Brian posted anything about the change in video style? Has anyone spoken to a rep to find out why they made the change? I'm curious as to what prompted the change & does this offer a more "real" life scenario. Brian, will WF be providing both styles per stone at some point?

New video:

Long time style:

Thank you..
Judy

Oh yea, you're right! Maybe they decided to upgrade the equipment?

Although the old format does look a lot nicer considering the sparkles are so much more apparent. It does also look very exaggerated though in my opinion. I doubt the normal lighting would showcase such intense colors.

The new format on the other hand seems a lot more muted, it's barely showing the sparks. But maybe it's more realistic now?

Thank you for the question Judy. We actually had not made an announcement regarding our additional video as we have only captured them on about half our diamonds so far.

We are adding what we are referring to as a 'brilliance' video to all of our in-house diamond detail pages (A CUT ABOVE, Expert Selection, and Premium Select). We initially went with our 360 videos in fire friendly lighting because it conveyed the beauty of the diamond, where originally we only had the clinical and rather sterile face-up arrows shot on our diamond detail pages. And we still believe the firey video gives the ability to compare stones on our site against one another from the standpoint of which might have the most potential for fire - a characteristic many of us love.

However, we did hear many comments about those videos not being as useful from the standpoint of being able to see clarity features. So we listened to the feedback and decided to do BOTH!

Accessing the New Vid
*There will still be only one video thumbnail. But when you click on it, if there is a Brilliance video ready, there will be tabs on the top that you can click to run either sparkle or brilliance.

The 2.825 linked in the original post now has both videos, so you can check it out.

Hi Bryan,

Thank you for the explanation. I like the added video & pleased we’ll have 2 ways to obsess over WF stones. Lol. Excellent video quality.

Nice job Bryan!

I SO MUCH PREFER THIS!!!! I never liked the older videos because it gave an unrealistic (almost cartoon-ish) amount of sparkle, and I felt like buyers might end up being disappointing with what they saw IRL.

This new format is much more true to what the eye sees and shows off the amazing faceting. GREAT WORK!

I love it. This is a really great addition in my opinion. Great job White Flash!
