Lynne Cheney was on Fox news talking about her new book. She was wearing a chain with two huge pearls at the front. Since then I am seeing other ladies on TV wearing this look. Have you seen it and is it you?

I haven't seen before and definately it's not for me...

TWO pearls for Confection -- never!

I would only consider trying this style if the pearls were real.

bsomlo; You got the point. And not for me if there were a whole strand either. This size is too much, even for me :lol:

Oh, I thought they'd be hanging down, lariat style, at the end of a chain, slightly different lengths. What a surprise! Probably imitation, and not asymmetrically balanced either, to my eyes. Thumbs down on this design. She needs a new stylist.

Pattye, A few days later I saw a young woman 20s-30s on TV wearing something similar on a link chain at the throat. That's when I figured this was not a one of a kind look on Lynne.

I think this style could work for a younger lady with a playful dressing style. But this way... NO.

NL, yes, I recall seeing a report or blog about a designer doing these over the top pearl looks. Oh, found it over on the other pearl forum~the gigantic imitation pearls are from Chanel! New styles for spring 2014. Not for me, though I love large!

WOW! You aren't kidding.

yuck :knockout:

It looks weird and does nothing for me.

DK :knockout:

Is Karl out of his mind? I wouldn't wear them even if they were real.

Okay, now they look like either breasts under the chin, or uneven bulging eyeballs under the chin.

Add something long in the middle of the two pearls ... :naughty:

DK :knockout:

I'm not a fan of that look either! It doesn't look classy, just odd.

Nope...not only is it unattractive but it's probably 1000$

Yikes...... pretty ugly..... :errrr:
Obviously faux and so big it looks unbalanced.

It's new, different and on the covers. Lots of sales to gormless fashion no brains who will snap them up even though they are just cheap imitation pearls on a bit of fabric.
The big myth about these fashion mags is that they set the trend. They don't. They cover only what is big bucks advertised with them. Only 1%, if that, of the editorial contains anything which is from a source which doesn't have a few full colour full page display ads

After seeing the magazine covers... I take my words back. NO ONE should wear those. :lol:

I really don't think that's for me!

As a younger person, I must say that the only time I would only wear 2 pearls is on an asymmetrical lariat. DEFINITELY not like that, imho....XD;

I'm not a fan of this look either. I've been seeing it everywhere on TV and magazines - must be a new trend for statement necklaces.

I skip a lot of trends that are not for me. This is one of them.

"This too shall pass."

Haha it's $1950 USD. There is one that looks like a headphone.

Hi;

No thanks.

Those are just awful. They don't even come off as high fashion, they just look odd and wrong.

Goiter was my first thought. :saint:

Ditto. I think a lot of younger people have not seen untreated goiter, which used to be more common than it is today. I remember when I was young seeing older people with those large neck growths. :(sad

My 5 year old looked at one of the pictures and said "Why does she have a bum on her neck?"

I actually don't mind the look, but I wouldn't want to waste perfectly good pearls on a trendy piece of jewelry. I'd probably buy something like that for costume around 30-100 dollars and wear it twice...... I'd rather use them as some stunning pendants!!!! :roll:
