Hey everyone,

I found this site and started looking around some to learn more about diamonds and which are good and seem to be getting more lost haha. I wanted to get some ideas of some good vendors or local jewelers so I have an idea when I go into a store what to expect. Below is the basics of what she is looking for in a ring:

Round cut
3 diamond
(Size she is open I am hoping around a 1.5 total or somewhere around there)

My budget I would like to be hopefully no more than 6k. Like I said I am really new to this and don''t know much besides what the different clarity charts are. I guess I want to see what are some good diamonds around that price with the best clarity and stuff. Hopefully when I get some insight I can elaborate some more.

Thanks in advance!!

What kind of 3 stones ring you are looking at? Similar size or one main and 2 much smaller size stone?

Go for H&A or Ideal cut diamonds =)
The better the cut= the more sparkle in all lighting
You can get internally flawless, colorless diamonds, but if they are not cut right it will be dull and boring =(

Based on what she has said I would say the center to be about double the size of the outer two, somewhere along those lines

What are some companies that produce the H&A or Ideal cut diamonds? Just seeing where I can actually go look at these types of diamonds either around Yuba City or Sacramento/Roseville area.

Thanks.

Hearts on Fire is a brand of H&A cuts. If the budget just for the stone or the entire ring?

I would like to be around 6k for the entire ring. I am somewhat flexible, but don''t want to spend a fortune on a first ring. Figure go real expensive for an anniversary or something.

What does a Hearts on Fire normally range for a 3 ring? I know it depends on size but just seeing a ballpark for price/size.

Thanks for the help.

Go to JamesAllen.com

You can get 2 .50 H&A (around 1k each)
Then a .75 H&A round for around 3k

1+1+3=5 then you have 1k left for a nice setting =)

Now you have a 1.75 carat ring!

Double in apparent face-up dimension or weight?

For example, 0.5c face up about 5.2mm diameter and 1.0c face up 6.5mm diameter. So you double the weight but only increase the face up diameter by 1.3mm.

Some 3 stone ring comparison, but with your budget, you will have to limit the main stone to preferably less than 0.8c.

From this thread you can see more stone size.

Also, go through this video with you gf and see which colors you are comfortable with. And then go to jewelry shop and look at stones graded by GIA/AGS to confirm your tolerance and preference.

Thanks for the information. I''ll check out jamesallen.com

And I''ll check that video out and when I figure a little more out on what she wants I can get a little more detail.

As SC said use the video as a guide only, it is best if you can look at some in person of similar lab grade, size, cut and colour grades as colour perception can vary.
