Last weekend, I stayed at my parents'' house, and my mom had brought home some jewelry for me to try from her safe deposit box. I found this lovely band, and it fit my right hand almost perfectly!

It was my mom''s baby ring for my little brother, an April baby. It has 11 channel-set diamonds in yellow gold, and it about 1/3 ctw (as far as she can remember). My mom outgrew it after she had my other little brother and got another RHR, so she was happy to see that I could wear it.

I think it''s a size 3.5--a little larger than what I normally wear, but the band is thicker (3.5mm) than any of my other RHRs. I have been wearing it for the last week, and it sparkles like crazy! Although I wouldn''t have necessarily picked the style out myself, it has really grown on me, and the YG is a nice change of pace.

Here it is on my Easter dress:

I love it! I think it looks really cool with your e-ring (even if you''re not planning on wearing it that way) - it''s a really beautiful ring!

Kittybean,

This ring looks awesome on your finger! Looks like it was made for you!

Very pretty, how sweet of your mom

What a beautiful and sentimental gift from your mother!

That''s a beautiful ring. It probably means even more knowing that it used to be your mom''s ring. Is that the type of ring you want as your ering?

Thanks, Freke and beachezz! I couldn''t believe my good fortune when it fit right onto my finger. It was meant to be!

MMT, thanks! My mom is a darling and knows I love all things sparkly.

Brown.Eyed.Girl, I''m glad you like it! I kinda like how it looks with my e-ring too. I''ve always liked the contrast of warm yellow gold with cool white metal.

Gecko, thank you! It is really fun to have a new sparkly to stare at.

TLH, thanks! I love the sentiment behind it. My little brother and I are very close, so it''s nice to have something of my mom''s that represents him.

CravingDiamonds, thank you for the kind words. My e-ring is actually the EC with rounds you see in the photos. My wedding band is currently being made by Whiteflash, and the style will be pretty different from this band (platinum and bezels).

It looks beautiful! I love wearing different colors of gold together:)

Love it!!!

Very pretty!

That is a really pretty band. It really does make a lovely RHR!

I am hoping to own lots of pretty jewellery pieces so I can give them to my daughters when they are older. I always love to hear about girls getting their mums pretties!

Pretty!

This is so beautiful kittybean - i love it! you have such pretty hands too....

Looks gorgeous!! Love it on your hand

Kelli, I love different colors of gold together, too. I have always loved two-tone rings, and these days, I''m mixing metals left and right.

Skippy,MC, and Coati, thank you!

Diamond*Dana, thanks! I am surprised at how much I like it as a RHR.

Maisie, you are such a sweet and thoughtful mother. I have inherited all kinds of treasures from my mom, and to me, that adds even more to their value. I love having things that marked milestones in her life or that I know she picked out and cherished. My grandmother (mom''s mom) has also passed on some jewelry to me that is very special (for example, the necklace and bracelet she received as a wedding gift from my grandfather, and a 24k gold bracelet he bought for her on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence). I''m sure your girls will really treasure your beautiful jewelry!

Violet3, thanks, and you''re so sweet for saying my hands look pretty. I was actually lamenting the state of my manicure when I took these pics, but I didn''t want to wait ''til I repainted them to share my new sparkly =).

AG, thank you so much!

What a pretty band! Congratulations. And it looks great with your e-ring...

Great story behind the ring, and it really suits both your engagement ring, and your hands...have you considered perhaps using this as a travel band?

Just gorgeous and so nice of your Mum! I totally love ygold
