I've been a lurker for a long time, but this is the first time I've had anything to post. This ring is an heirloom from my SO's family, and is the first antique ring I've seen in person. The family history says that it dates to the 1880's-1890's, which I have trouble believing since the setting looks so quintessentially Art Deco. I'm wondering if the center stone might be that old, but the ring was reset in the 20's?
The little side stones appear to be rose cuts, but they're very grey despite cleaning. I may need to take it in to a jeweler to see if it can get a deeper cleaning (and be resized, since it's a bit big!). I don't know anything about the metal, carat weight, etc. My ring size is a 6, though, if that gives any idea. Sorry for the phone photography and my unpolished nails!
Here are the pictures!
