Hi,

After reading about diamonds on the internet and going through pricescope forums, I finally bought a 0.657 ct G color, VS2 clarity AGS certified diamond for $3087 from shane and co. It has a few minor inclusions which arent clearly visible under 10x magnification but can be seen under 20x magnification. The inclusions arent near the table, more towards the rim of the diamond. The diamond is very clear and sparkles well under all conditions. The girdle is between thin and medium. It also scores well on the brilliance, fire and scillintillation. Together with the ring(simple solitaire setting, 4 prongs 14k white gold), it comes to about 3500. Most importantly, both my fiance and I love the diamond. Does it sound like a good deal?

Thanks in advance.

It'd be hard for people to chime in without the angles or cut/light performance grade, etc. Do you have the report number?

if yours is a AGS 000 ideal cut round diamond, i think you did well. The price point is decent.

I don't have the certificate on me now. I'll post it later today. Thanks for your replies.

It would be good to see the angles, but it seems like it's not too far off price-wise as long as the angles and measurements look good.

This one is a "best of the best". ACA, Hearts and Arrows, great performance info, a little bigger for a few hundred more:

Here's a fairly close one from JA, an unbranded AGS0, a little bit smaller, a bit less than you spent:
