New style of earrings

Or maybe I just haven't seen them before? Both of these photos were taken in London on a recent holiday.

Are they a thing that I just haven't noticed? Do they drag your ear down at all?

I haven't seen anyone wearing that style, and to be honest, I hope it is just a fad of the moment. I don't like them!

I've seen a lot of women in my city with them (LA). Both young (20's) and mid aged moms and professionals. Seems to be the trendy thing right now.

Are they just fashion earrings or proper jewellery jerichosmom? From the ladies I saw wearing them, the gold ones looked like gold, the pearl ones looked like costume/fashion.

I guess you could wear them either way?

I don't care for them. I usually eschew trendy anyway but seriously don't care for these earrings in any way shape or form. Of course I reserve the right to change my mind if they look great on somebody but at this stage I haven't seen them IRL and in pics I think blechhh.

I've seen them everywhere in east Asia this spring (HK, Korea, Japan, China) seems to be the new trend.

I think it became popular after Jennifer Lawrence wore the Dior double pearl earrings.

I've seen those in the press, & I too, am not much of a fan. Although I've never tried a pair on, maybe they do look nice, but from my vantange point, I'm not wild about them.

I say a woman wearing them on a flight from Hawaii. When I got home I saw them in a Ross-Simons catalog in multiple colors. They are interesting, but I don't think I would want to own them. Same thing with the earrings that go up the ear. Cute but trendy. I wouldn't want to invest in them.

I've seen them in magazines and on few women in my area but mostly with imitation pearls. IMO it's a trendy piece like the climber earrings. Costume is the way to go.

I've seen them. My earlobes are so small that I think it would overwhelm my ears.

Personally if I try them they will be costume earrings.
