Thank you Diamondrnglover. Good, clean rubies are nice. I looked at a round, heart, oval and larger EC but this one was the only one that was clear, lively and had good color.
I love it! I really love that if is not an oval. I love ovals but so many colored stones are cut in oval. I love that it is an EC and this is a perfect setting for it! Happy B-day!
Thank you Jaysonsmom. I might have to dig out some red nail polish too.
Thank you Motownmama. I picked out the loose stone at a jeweler in Denver.
Thank you Luv2sparkle. Ovals are pretty but I agree many CS rings have oval stones. I looked at an oval ruby but it was higher priced, not as saturated color and side by side not nearly as lively.
Thanks MissGotRocks. I can take different shades of color in sapphires but IMO rubies can only be one shade of red.
Thanks Aprilbaby. I’ve been wanted to get a better ruby ring for years but sapphires or diamonds kept winning. I traded in a .45 ct marquis ruby ring, very dated and not my style anymore to help pay for part of this ring.
Thank you Christina. You are lucky to have ruby as your birthstone. That is always a good reason to buy a new ruby.
Thank you Laila619. It always amazes me how a setting can just make a stone pop. The mounting we liked the best in the case was a chunky band with recessed diamond accents but the ruby was just part of that ring; not the centerpiece. We both immediately said “no”.
Thank you Woofmama. I hope you find yourself a nice ruby too. I will be anxious to see it.
Thank you Junebug. I dug out my ruby studs to wear with my ring today. Now I need a red shirt.
