New Ring - Beautiful Box - but a bit of a dilemma -- your opinions please

I like the new band unsoldered with your e-ring much much better than the other two that were soldered. I think it looks more elegant and streamlined with just one band (it seems like the diamonds might be smaller and go farther around than the old ones?). The old way was more blocky and your solitaire in the middle just doesn''t stand out. I vote for combining the old two bands into one stunning eternity to wear alone or stacked with other bands on the right hand!

I like the channel set band better. Something about the sliver of gold betreen the ering and diamonds makes the diamonds stand out and it looks very pretty. But since they are already making you new bands what will you do with so many? I am not nuts about rings being soldered together. They end up looked too bulky, but that's just me.

I love the new set! It''s like they were meant to be together, and I feel like it enhances the centre stone without taking it away from the centre of attention.

I would be very nervous however letting them have another go at those bands to make earrings! What guarantees do you have that they are not going to stuff them up again? Can you get your money back and then take to somewhere else to get made in earrings?

My vote is to keep the new look with the new band...I think it''s gorgeous!

Could you wait until you get your bands back from the jeweler and then just wear one of your original bands (instead of both) with your e-ring for a few days and see how you like it? That may give you the new look you desire without having to buy another band. Not that the Birks ring isn''t lovely- it is- but I just wonder if it''s the overall look of a single wedding band with your e-ring that you are really being drawn to rather than the Birks ring in specific.

Just wanted to throw that thought out there since no one had mentioned it yet. Good luck making a decision on what to do!

Love that new channel set band. Looks great with your e-ring. Of course, I have a channel set band just like your new one that I have been wearing for nearly 20 years now. Back then it was sold as an "anniversary ring". It still looks great. Glad to see it is coming back into fashion.

This is a good suggestion, for me anyway, being a slow decider, I''d like to explore that option just in case. Then, if you still like the new band better, keep it. There is no hurry to do anything with the other rings. You could see if you like the variety for a while, and then, there are the good suggestions about making earrings or an eternity band with the others when you''re ready. For myself, I agree with others who said they''re not crazy about soldered rings, mainly just because I like the flexibility of wearing just the one w/o the other, etc... But also because I think the 3 together would feel bulky on my finger - that''s just me. Also, if you decide to do anything custom, e.g. making the other rings into something else, choose your custom vendor carefully! You don''t need another situation like this one. At first I thought the suggestion to make a channel set band with your old diamonds was good, for sentimental reasons plus the cost savings, but then I thought, NO! If you love this new ring, just keep it; I wouldn''t want to risk it not turning out just right by getting a custom job.

I love the new band, and I think it looks GREAT with that bracelet. In the picture it looks like two solid lines of diamonds across your wrist, then your finger. I like the eternity band idea too, because I''m a big believer in having many stacking options!

Please, please, keep the channel set ring. It''s perfect! Don''t overthink this one. Sometimes custom pieces, despite the best of planning, just don''t match expectations. This is such an important ring for you, and you have hit a home run. Besides, it''s so much fun to find a new home for your existing stones....Oh, and beautiful hands BTW!!!
