Sorry for the second post, but I thought it would be easier to view all the photos if they were at the front. I also included her engagement ring and eternity band since I have never shown it before.

Stats on the rings:

Tsavorite:

2.42 carats
Concave cushion cut, by Richard Homer of concavegems.com

The Setting and design:

Maytal Hofman www.maytalhannah.com

The engagement ring:

1.3 carat emerald cut stone. F in color, VS1 clarity. The setting and eternity band were both done by a local jeweler. I wish I knew Maytal back then.

All rings are in platinum.

The ering and band are beautiful, too. But there''re always anniversaries for "Maytal Makeovers", if you ever think you need a change!

Ooooooh, wow that is gorgeous.

Now I know what a haloed tsavorite looks like - I couldn''t make my mind up. Very, very nice!

Can I ask for a couple of other specs?

- What are the mm dimensions of the stone?
- What is your wife''s ring size?

Great job Moosejaw - really beautiful, and amazing colour!

PandoraII:

The stones dimensions are:

9.0 x 7.4 x 5mm

The size of the ring is 4.5, and fit a bit loose.

I can''t emphasize enough how great it was to work with Maytal. I mentioned to her what I liked, and she did the rest. My wife couldn''t be happier with it, and neither could I.

As always the photos don''t do it justice, but it still looks great.

My wife has had a stressful year. We had our baby, and she chose to go back to teaching...this doesn''t quite make up for the long hours, low pay, and missing quite a bit of our son...but its a start. hehe.

Thanks for all the great comments.

I apologize if I missed this post by you, but I am curious about the setting details. It''s amazing. What size stones did you use in the halo and band? Is it platinum or white gold? I am jealous, extremely jealous! I had to save this picture, it''s truly gorgeous.

eringsearcher:

I posted quite a bit of info on the stone, and a little about the setting up above...but I don''t mind repeating.

The setting was done by Maytal Hofman, www.maytalhannah.com.

It is platinum, with a pave/melee design. I showed her a photo of something I was thinking of, and she did the rest. It came out a little different than I asked, but all for the better.

There are 3 rows of pave, as well as on the head which holds the stone.

We considered doing pave all away around, but it didnt make sense since we didnt want to damage damage it while wearing.

The stone is 2.42 carats, and I am unsure of the exact carat weight of the pave.

My wife really appreciates the great compliments.

The cool thing for me is everytime I see it I think about my mother, since it was her birthstone. I still have to get photos of the spessertite ring I had made for my sister. It is much different but fantastic. Maytal did it as well.

I am also pretty happy that I have never seen a ring that looks like that, but is still very classic looking...without being too pretentious.

I have to say I think tsavs are amazing, prettier than any emerald I have ever seen.

What was the occasion of that halo''d beauty?

What was the occasion of that halo''d beauty?

I had purchased the tsavorite for my wife, and a spessartite for my sister(I don''t have photos yet, but it is a platinum ring done by Maytal in a modern setting.) for a Christmas present. Since my mother passed away Feb 14th 2006, this was our first Christmas without her and garnets are her birth stone. So this way my sister has a constant and beautiful reminder, and so do I.

A little bit of it was selfish since I do benefit from seeing it, and doing something nice...but my wife and sister were very happy about it too. My father helped pitch in for my sisters ring.

The cool thing was I was able to get the opinion of my sister and wife before we ordered the settings, so they could get exactly what they wanted.

Somehow I missed the new handshots of this beauty. That is such a stunning ring and the sentiment behind it is so nice. I also like your wife''s wedding set and I look forward to seeing your sister''s ring. Thanks for sharing!
