Congrats funrider, your ring is gorgeous! I think a lot of people don't consider the oval diamonds because well they've never seen one, but it's definitely got plenty of finger coverage for that carat. Enjoy your new ring!

Gorgeous! Ovals are awesome- your ring is a beauty! Enjoy and wear in good health.

What a beautiful and elegant ring. The oval is such a chique shape!
Enjoy wearing your stunning piece of jewelry.

It looks so beautiful on your finger!

From one oval lover to another, that's a gorgeous ring with a stunning oval...nice ovals are hard to come by, but yours is a beauty! Congrats on your engagement and new ring!

Wow! That is beautiful!

Gorgeous ring! It looks beautiful & huge on your hand :appl:

Congrats, you have to love Ovals they give max finger real estate!!!!

its gorgeous! in addition to the finger coverage, i think it looks very harmonious with your slender fingers.

It's gorgeous and huge! I love ovals.

And where on earth did you get that setting? I'm amazed that side pave on the halo is so delicate. You can't even see it from the top view, just the side!

This is so beautiful - I'm having an oval halo for my ering (though have to wait until I'm in the U.S. over Christmas to actually get it!) so am already a big fan.

Would you mind sharing the length-to-width dimensions? I think the proportions of the stone are just perfect - definitely oval but without looking too skinny!

Beautiful!!!

Hi everybody! Thank you so much for your generous comments. About the ring:

So the stone is 1.8 oval I VS2, Length/Width=1.4; more precisely 9.87 x 7.01x 4.06. I really like the dimensions too and I have to admit that having a strong preference on L/W ratio makes shopping rather painful, when on a budget...

I got the setting from the Eternity by Yoni. It was custom-made but relied on this ring http://www.eternitybyyoni.com/engagement-rings/diamond-engagement-ring/Harry-Winston-Inspired-Round-Halo-Ring-532.htm The main changes included making the donut bigger and changing struts to outward-bending, rather than inward. And I added double claw prongs.

I am very happy with the way the ring turned out. I am sure it is not as perfectly made as VC, but it also didn't have the same price tag. As for the maker, Yoni, it was a good experience. He promptly responded to all emails/calls, so I never had the "OMG, who did I just give me money to?" feeling! :D

So beautiful!

your ring is absolutely gorgeous! It is exactly what I am looking for, an oval with a dainty delicate halo. I have been looking into leon mege and victor Canera, but you mentioned that yours was less expensive? You are happy with the work? I would like to go to Yoni and tell him I want your exact ring :)

So beautiful! Elegant and delicate and big - all at the same time

I really like the look of your oval. I am currently finalizing my gf's ring. Would you mind sharing some details of your ring for perspective?
  1. Size of the halo (Are those 1/2 pointers or 1 pointers)?
  2. Shank width (I am debating between 2mm or 2.25mm or 2.5mm)
  3. Ring size?
My gf's ring size is 4.5mm and the oval is roughly 8.8mm in length. Need help deciding on the shank width and halo size?

I look forward to hearing back from you!
