Hi everyone,

I showed a sneak peek of this ring over on CS, but figured I'd go ahead and dedicate a thread for it here. Hope you all like him!

David and Amy did a fabulous job, as always. While I'm not usually a fan of elaborate prongwork, I wanted something with milgrain detail to harken back to the diamond bezeling (and I did not want to bezel the garnet). So I came up with split claw prongs, and I think it turned out well! Went for the bezeled, invisible set diamonds rather than the standard prong set 5-stone design. Trying not to outright copy endlesssummer's mint ring (that I've been drooling over for years). lol

Specs

Stone:
Merelani mint garnet weighing just under 4.5ct
Measures around 12x7mm
Here's that post... click

Ring:
Platinum 950
F, VS1 diamonds weighing 0.90ctw
Size 6

You've done it again! The prong-free shoulders are a triumph - stone, trap, bullet and knife-edge metal join almost seamlessly. Thie bright look is perfect for the minty tone of the stone.

Turned out well? It turned out phenomenal! The prongs look like leaves hugging the stone. Very fitting!

Wow! Love that center stone and love the seamless trap-to-tapered-bullet! Really remarkable and a "modern classic"!

May I ask: was this CAD or fabricated? Seems too "open" for carved wax. Fine to not answer -- just that everything is such a perfect fit!

You always have such insightful (and kind) things to say. I'm flattered that you are enjoying it!

Another person who I'm proud to impress! Thank you!!

Gorgeous colour and gorgeous setting Autumn!!! Those prongs are amazing! Can’t wait for your hand shots!

I was hoping they didn't turn out too bulky, but I think we made it work. I appreciate the vote of confidence, my friend!

This ring is absolutely gorgeous! Everything about it is perfect. I can’t wait to see hand shots.

Aww thank you for saying so! I will pass along all of the positive feedback to David and Amy!!

Nope, as far as I know, she was cast. I think Inken is the only person who's ever made a ring from scratch for me. I definitely prefer it, but it's extra pricey (as you know) and time-consuming. I love that you love the result!

Goodness this is perfect, the color is divine! Congratulations on your new beautiful ring.

As a perfectionist (who often falls short), I never tiring of hearing that word! lol I hope to love this piece when she arrives... thank you!!

It looks so fresh I can almost smell and taste it! :lickout:
Just perfect for summer, @Autumn in New England.

I saw this on IG and hoped it belonged to a Pricescoper...well, of course it does! It's so pretty and so well done, how
could I think anything else!

This ring is just beautiful! Love the colour, the seamless shoulders & the spit prong millgrain is inspired!

I absolutely love everything about it! What a gorgeous piece that looks like it was just meant to be. I love how it has aspects of several design eras but just looks so timeless and harmonious. I can't wait to see it on you!

I was wondering if anyone caught that reveal... tee hee. I'm glad you love it!

Seemingly small details, but I think they made all the difference here. Thank you for noticing!

It's definitely a hodgepodge of different design elements. lol You can tell my tastes are a bit schizophrenic. :twirl: Thank you!

I saw this on DK’s Instagram and it stopped me in my tracks. The proportions of the side stones with your gemstone are perfection. I love the detailed prongs and it is exceptional workmanship. What a beauty.

Enjoy your new ring!

Thank you, my dear!

I saw your lovely IG comment; thank you! It's funny you should mentioned the trap/tapered bullet proportions, because we discussed that right down to the micrometer, with an entire diagram illustrating just where I wanted them to begin and end. As I said before, an elongated emerald wouldn't have been my first choice, but I think we did it justice!
