Recently my boyfriend bought the following diamond for my engagement ring, he had bought another stone but the jeweler rejected it on his behalf as it wasn''t as nice looking as she had hoped. We are in the UK but we are having the ring made in America so obviously we won''t see the stone until the final piece is mailed out to us (although i think my boyfriend will ask for photos...i''m not allowed to see them!). I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of diamonds of this cut and has any example pictures of a stone with similar dimensions...was it worth the money, I am more bothered about it looking pretty, clean and white than the size of the stone...I initially wanted a 0.5 carat but the jeweler recommended slightly larger due to the relatively small price difference/the type of setting is designed for 0.70-1 caratish...

So in short i''d like to know if the stone i''m getting will be pretty (as far as you can tell from numbers alone i understand it''s impossible to be sure) and if it was worth the money...also if anyone has a photo of a 0.75 diamond on a 4.5 ring finger that would be great....cushion cut even better.

Cushion Brilliant, GIA Certified, Premium Cut

Size - 0.75
Colour - G
Clarity - VS1
Depth - 68.6

Welcome!

Really you can't judge a cushion by the numbers, at best all you get is a chalk outline of the stone and to know whether it is worth evaluating further. Even if we could find a photo of a cushion with similar proportions they could look like chalk and cheese and be of completely different types and shapes, the best scenario is to have a photo of your actual cushion in order to get any meaningful information. The price looks reasonable based on the small amount of info we have - I think it is a case of waiting it out - hopefully you will be absolutely delighted when you see it!

hey,

thank you for your reply :)

Argh i suppose i''m just going to have to wait and see luckily the jeweler we are using has a money back guarantee if i''m not completely sure :)

Still i don''t suppose you know if there are any pictures of a diamond (any shape really) of similar proportions of a 4.5 ring finger?

Thanks x

You are welcome! And yes this is really all you can do, no way to tell just by that small amount of info how your cushion will look, but enjoy the anticipation! You are covered if in the unlikely event you didn't like it as your jeweller has a return policy.

This is a good thread for a lot of cushion info, it has lots of info and links to other cushion threads, alternatively check out the eye candy folder in show me the ring, that normally has ring sizes alongside the stones.

Oh right - it came across that you were suggesting these two as thats how you normally write when suggesting diamonds " these 2 ?" etc - my mistake!

The cushion has already been purchased SC.

They both look available, but the Sig has been mis-categorized (not in the sig category, but in the regular cushion section).
Hi C!

I meant the original poster has already purchased their cushion and as such didn't need suggestions, not that the GOG ones were sold!
