New here - almost engaged.

Hi All,

I've never posted here before but I've recently enjoyed reading many posts here. I'm not officially engaged but the ring has been purchased and I'm so excited about it I had to share. I only have the pics from the seller since the ring hasn't arrived yet. Plus my boyfriend is insisting that I can't even look at it until he proposes so he can give me the ring himself. Awww.

In the mean time, here is what I have. I will post more pics when I have the ring in hand, or on finger.

The ring is a vintage ring from the 1920, the Art Deco style. It has lovely filigree work. Its 18K white gold, .25 carat diamond, color is G-H and grading iis SI-2/3 (though I am really not sure what all that means). I did not get this ring for the diamond. I am in love with the band and that is the most important part to me.

I would love to hear your thoughts and if any of you also have antique rings I would love to see them too.

I'm in the same boat Holly! I've been involved in the entire e-ring purchasing process, but my bf tells me that when they ship the final product he wants it sent to him (not me or both of us) and I am not allowed to even see it until he proposes. I think it's really sweet, but I know the suspense will kill me! lol.

I love your ring. I love antiques. My mother recently gifted me one of my grandmother's rings and it has the most beautiful detail. The diamonds in it literally look like they have black moles but I love it nonetheless. I look forward to seeing the hand shots!!

Thank you guys. It is so beautiful. I have a feeling my boyfriend is purposely going to torture me.

Tannen, it is kind of sweet that they want to do that. Make it special. I asked my boyfriend not to propose on valentines day though. I am not big on the idea that the holiday is a day that forces people to do special things for their partner. I want him to propose and do sweet things for me because its what he wants to do. Not because he feels he has to.

This is just my opinion though. Its not to say other people shouldn't enjoy valentines day for what they love about it. Just no proposal for me today. But in my case that is a good thing.

I would love to see a pic of your ring too when you get it. And I hope to hear how your boyfriend proposes.

It's good to know that I'm not alone in the almost engaged process! I've been involved from the start and have approximately 15 more days before the proposal. As much as it's great to know that it will be something that I truly wanted and was able to pick out, the wait is killing me!

We both feel the same way about valentine's day too. We have never been big on the occasion. We might buy each other little gifts just because, but there's never pressure from either side. In fact, we are both just sitting in bed right now wasting time on our laptops. Today is no different for us than any other day. I like it that way too!
