Hey everyone,
I''m new to this site and new to diamonds/rings in general. I''m here because I''m getting close to proposing to my gf and I''m researching all I can before making a purchase. We went looking at rings a while ago so I would know what she liked, size, etc.. so I have an idea of what I''m looking for. The only problem is this...we live together and she is very sharp. Anything I do out of the ordinary and she''ll know. I don''t have the luxury of going from store to store as she''d catch on very quickly. I''m doing my shopping online obviously but the problem I''m finding is that seemingly all the rings on the typical sites (Jareds, Kay, Zales, etc...) are of pretty low quality (color - H, clarity - I1-2)
I''m attaching a picture of exactly what I want...unfortunately the specs are what I just mentioned above. It probably wouldn''t be very cost effective to try and replace all the diamonds.
So I ask...to the average person, not connoisseurs like you guys, how important is it to have high color/clarity? Or will the average person be happy with something as long as its shiny? lol
The one in the pic is total weight of 1.5c.
Sorry for the generalized questions...its just that this is my first and hopefully only time doing this
Any input would be appreciated.
