Ok please tell me someone else is feeling the pain of seeing the new GOG signature OMC and not being able to have one on my finger TOMORROW. For anyone who hasn''t there''s a great video up on the GOG homepage of the diamond in natural light and its drool worthy. Ugh I''m usually pretty patient to get engaged but this diamond is putting me over the edge. I''ve always thought we''d look at GOG and ERD when we look to buy a cushion but idk if I can turn down these new signature cushions. They are just to die for. Ok hopefully someone else feels the same way and this post won''t seem idiotic haha. Even if you don''t like cushions check out the new video I think you''ll be impressed.

They are AMAZING. Check out the SMTR thread of AJ''s beautiful ring to get your rainbow fix!

Here to tempt everyone with the GOG OMC in my avatar.

Callisto, it is killing me too!!! I have watched the videos more times than I can count.. and I just drool all over the place.. So yummy!!!

Thanks Chrono

Oh believe me, I''ve been there already. Can you believe thats a DOWNGRADE!?!?!?! Ridiculous. But her ring has been bookmarked into my "ring" folder where I go when I want to drool over my favorites.

Part of me is really starting to love the slightly less colorless stones. Her''s is an L and I''m in love with it. I looked at the OMC stones currently for sale on GOG''s website and most of them are actually around the L range. There was one I really liked and was near our future price range and was about .2 carats bigger than anything I was expecting (since it was an L) that I probably would have considered jumping on except it was just too square for my liking. I like closer to the 1.1 ratio. Maybe my dream stone will pop up soon

serously gorgeous! CHRONO- do you have a thread for your OMC?

Oh yes, I''m dying!!!

I have been working with Jonathan patiently, very patiently, since Jan...I even visited him in late Jan!! So cool! Anyway, I''ve seen some cushions come and go, but nothing was quite right for us...be it timing, or color, or price, etc. But, I''m glad I waited - his new signatures are TDF!

So, in the meantime, my future FI and I have been saving our $$, and I picked out my setting...so now I just need that *one* lovely cushion. Hurry up!! I need some bling on this finger!!!

And, seriously, the videos are just a big tease to me at this point! Argh! Must be patient...must be patient...must be patient.

Ditto this, I love that region of colour too. It seems to be more lively, or to have more personality or something. AND they''re cheaper! It''s a win win.

*DROOL*
They''re making me seriously debate the e-ring FF and I have chosen (not yet purchased). We love the Tacori 2620 (a RB center that has a cushion-y feel due to the halo), but maybe we''d be better off getting a chunky OMC in a simple setting! Any of you ladies have opinions on what setting would suit a GOG OMC nicely?

Callisto, thanks for posting because i thought i was the only one too! i viewed GOG's video AND AJ's thread on SMTR like a gazillion times...which is why i've been having to mop the buckets of drool off my desk.

i showed the dear BF the video too! well, made him watch was probably more like it...i think i lost him halfway through. i was just trying to show him the one of the signature cushion's i'm in love with, and how lighting can affect the look of a diamond. i'm totally in love with antique cuts...anything labeled "chunky cushion", "OMC", "OEC" or "transitional cut" and i'm like -->
jitteryfooguy.gif
. i just LOVE it on GOG's videos when they turn on the "sparkle" lights...

Here are my favorite cushion settings. I personally dont lean toward halos but if you searched for cushion halo I bet you''d find about 100 beautiful rings since so many people do them with halos. Most of these aren''t that simple but if you like Tacori I''m not sure you be satisfied with a really simple setting anyways.

that 2.46 L is calling my name!

I know!!! If only I had 10K laying around. Its gorgeous. Hopefully I can get just a slightly smaller version of that stone.

I was so proud of myself though my BF asked how big I thought the stone in the video was and I guessed 2.5 and I was so close! Hehe.

Hey Callisto (and other ladies),
glad we could be a bad influence

btw, mine's actually an M !
So if you think you like the look of mine, you'd be fine with a K or L for sure.

Of course, I haven't seen an F or G of one to compare in person - but I know that Jon is also personally keen on the slightly warmer coloured OMC's (he loves that 2.46 L), so I think that says something.
I do own a G transitional, which is no slouch, but the M OMC is still waaay prettier. I'd be happy to take comparison pics if anyone desired..

Like I mentioned in my thread, somehow it's not like these diamonds are actually trying to look "whiter" like other cuts - they are simply just reflecting colours and rainbows like the dickens instead!

cheers ladies for the appreciation of my new ring - everyone who has posted has made my downgrade def. feel like an upgrade!

Erinleigh,
it really depends on your personal style - I actually think they can look great in both modern and vintage styles.
But ultimately I will likely have James Meyer do a reset for my one (link).
I already own a RHR by JM (the one in my av), and his style of work is the perfect complement to these OMC's, imho.

I actualy ADORE older stones that have a warmer color to them.

If I were ever to be so lucky as to get one of those or even find on OMC, or OEC anywhere I would probably want it to be a J-K at the lightest. I dunno, maybe I'm just a silly girl.

and that James Meyer setting looks so great, his stuff really does suit those older cuts so well (can you even call GOG stone an older cut tho...hmmm I wonder)
I can't praise your new ring enough!

Also, My and my SO are ring shopping (er looking) and OUr budget isnt near the cost of the 2.46, but that stone was AMAZING (all of them were tho...ever single one of those little firebombs!)... BUT if he would let me contribute....we could get it... ah now I'm thinking ahead of myself!

It was the GOG video of the new OMCs and gwendolyn''s post over in RT, which dragged me out of lurkedom and caused me to sign up hehe. I have to say in the video it looks stunning and I certainly wouldn''t mind one on my finger
