New eternity band - keep or return?

Hi everyone, happy holidays!

I saw many people showing their Costco rings and start to wonder if I should try a bigger eternity band... And I did!

I got this new ring from Bluenile, the total carat weight is 1, size 5, platinum: https://www.bluenile.com/riviera-1-carat-diamond-eternity-ring-platinum_47635

My main concern for bigger eternity band is the comfort level, and I don't like the side of the ring sticking out too much - hence uncomfortable :P2

My regular ring size is 4.75, so the new ring is a tad bigger than I prefer, but does not seem too obvious. I think 1ct tw is something I can wear comfort wise, so should I return this and custom make a 4.75 one? Is it worth the process?

The new ring definitely shows its existence way more than my previous eternity band. It's shiny and pretty! I do like the setting on this one too - it's very low profile and smooth on the edge (if that makes sense). Let me know what you think!

New ring alone:

With my WF 0.4 tw eternity:

Two eternity bands on my hand: top WF, bottom new BN

Three eternity comparison: top (BN 0.1 tw, half eternity) (middle: WF 0.4 tw, full eternity) (bottom: new BN)

Thanks everyone!

Wow! That new ring is super beautiful, blingy, and low-set. I *personally* would leave the size as is (presuming it’s a 5?) because when you wear it with your Ering, they look to be the same width across your finger.

Also, when you stack, your rings fit tighter. If you plan to wear it as a stand-alone ring, maybe your right hand is a smidge larger? I believe the cost for Blue Nile to make you a ring at 4.75 would be “custom” which usually equals $$$$. But, as they say, it’s free to ask. ‘

Anyway, it is LOVELY!

Thanks @ringo865!

Good point on stacking - I never thought about that. And my right hand is slightly larger =)2

It looks great on you! Honestly, with eternity bands, I do tend to size up a little bit as they can not be resized(or would be very difficult to resize) down the road. You want to account for some finger size changes down the road. That being said, I think size 5 looks fine on you. It doesn’t look oddly big or anything.

Thanks @ean! I thought I can't tell much difference size wise too.

It’s beautiful!

I have the same band as you and it definitely can hold its own!

Beautiful set - I would keep it a little loose as mine is about a quarter size larger than my e-ring. When you start stacking it can get a bit snug!

Another vote to keep it! It looks really lovely on you, very proportionate & is ideal for stacking being a little bigger. I love it!

It’s gorgeous and so perfectly blingy. :kiss2:
I vote keep it. I also wear a 4.75 but my eternity ring is a 5 and it fits very comfortably. Plus, I can switch it to my right hand, which as my dominant hand, is ever so slightly larger.

Definitely keep. Its proportions are (to my eye) by far the best with your e-ring. They make an impressive set, without the BN ring overwhelming your e-ring in any way.

Lovely!

It’s great to hear that. Thanks, @mrs-b!
