New emerald earrings

A few months ago, I lost one my diamond stud earrings, a birthday gift from my fiancee last year . This was right after I became engaged & the only jewel I had eyes for was my ring, & I wasn't very careful with my studs. The jeweler was not able to find a match, so to make the best of a bad situation, I decided to get a pair of emerald earrings instead. Ever since Angelina Jolie wore those emerald stunners at an awards show a few years ago, I have been craving emeralds!

Here are the earrings, 0.68 ctw natural emeralds, french backs in 14kt white gold:


In the sun, they give off that electric green color that I just love:

Smith1940 - I got them in the jewelry district in downtown LA, a small vendor (Farah Jewelry) where my fiancee had bought my studs. The vendor pulled out a packet of emeralds and let my fiancee & me "play" with them to see what we could find. Out of that packet, we found one emerald which had the color I wanted. Then it took a couple months for the vendor to match the color, shape, and size. I am not sure of the origin of the emeralds or the treatments... But what I can say in my short foray into the emerald world is that most of the loose stones that I saw were of the pale green variety- pretty, but not what I was looking for.

Enerchi - I'm about a few hundred carats OFF from AJ, but it's a start! If you do a google search on "Angelina Jolie emeralds", she wears emeralds a LOT.
