I''ve had a relatively boring summer, having sacrificed our tenth anniversary trip to the Caribbean for a new master bath (which I''ve been waiting four months to get done...... long story, half the stuff is in my dining room as we speak), soooooo I decided that I needed to dive into a little project to cheer myself up. (I''m also a bass widow, which makes summer time particularly long and difficult to deal with) When Jellybean posted her the pics of her new gorgeous Adwar/Whiteflash earrings, I felt compelled

to browse through the Adwar site to see what else they had. I''d been looking for a new pair of yellow gold diamond earrings at Fortunoff for some time and hadn''t found anything just shouted "take me home". So I''m seriously leaning towards this mounting:

I''ll make my final decision when I stop into GOG this week to see what they have or what they might suggest. I live so close to Jonathan''s shop, I thought it a Pricescope "sin" to not have visited yet!

Over the weekend, I picked up these little beauties which will be here on Wednesday. My first H color stones. I have eight Gs in my collection.

.25 ct. H VS2 4.12 x 4.14 x 2.54 GIA certed
Depth - 61.5
Table - 57%
Cut - Ex
Polish - Ex
Sym - Ex
C - None
Fl - Faint
Crown - 34.5
Pav - 40.8

HCA - 1.4

And her "sister" is an exact duplicate in every way. I couldn''t pass that up. Two 4.12 x 4.14 etc etc etc. They were graded ten days apart but they had to be cut by the same cutter to have exactly the same measurements.

I''ll let you all know how my visit to GOG goes!

Let me know what you think of the mounting. I already have my G VS2s set as platinum studs. I wanted something different, something with a bezel that was not necessarily a halo. Something for everyday but still with a little flare.

Sister stones is right! Wow, they are identical twins! Congratulations, can''t wait to see the finished earrings! Sorry about your rough summer.......hang in there, this will CERTAINLY brighten things up!

I hope I''m not out of place in asking you this... but what is a bass widow?

They will be beautiful in that setting! I spent hours looking through Adwar''s website after Jelly posted her earrings too! What a great little pick-me-up! Isn''t jewelry grand??!!!!!

Yes lovemyhalo! Jewelry, especially diamonds, are a grand passion! I absolutely love it and finding the right stones? Nothing can beat that feeling.

Lucky Texan, my husband is a very serious award winning (in these parts) bass angler

. He fishes at every available opportunity; competively in fresh water and for the fun of it in salt water. Our "summer" starts in April and runs through November. "Winter series" you know.....

Jelly, it''s all your fault! LOL! Adwar has some pretty nice things to be truthful. They have some diamond stacking ring mountings I wouldn''t mind making down the road.

The funny thing is, Adwar is down the road about fifteen or twenty minutes from GOG. They''re both on Long Island at opposite ends of Sunrise Highway. I called Adwar to see if I could go there myself to see samples and they said no. I have to order the mountings through a jeweler. No biggy. Once I decide for sure, the mountings will be there the next day and not because of Fedex!

LOL Lucky Texan! Actually a lot of guys would like to kill my husband or at least pick his brain to bits to find out how he does it. We''re on Long Island, but he''s pretty well known in the surrounding states too. He''s been "Angler of the Year" in whatever club he''s fished with for the past 18 years. He fishes the amateur bass tournament circuit and the "open tournaments" which are amateurs and pros (you know, all those guys you see on ESPN on Bassmasters? Yup, them) He''s been fishing salt since he''s 7 but started fishing fresh 18 yrs ago. Now he''s into building custom made lures and spends lots of his off time pouring lead in my back shed, and tying and painting in my garage. (My eye for color and gemstones makes it easy for me to custom mix his paint) I wish that darned melting pot would heat to a high enough temp to pour gold!
Tournament life is very VERY hard. It depends on the club too. At one point, he was fishing almost every weekend and it was sad, lonely and depressing for me, even with our volunteer work. We have to squeeze our "normal life" in sideways in between all of his tournaments. We even chose our wedding date based on his tournament schedule! He had to decide which tournament he didn''t mind missing. I guess the reason he never says anything about my "passion" is because he spends much MUCH more than I do on professional tackle. I don''t hold a weeny little candle to what he spends on fishing every year....

I know it wouldn''t help your husband much, but my hub belongs to http://www.nybass.com/ the New York Bass discussion board. I''m sure there''s something similiar in your area. If he can find a discussion board close to home, the guys share tips all the time on tournaments, tackle, boats and motors. They can help him get his boat in the water. Tell your hub we wish him "tight lines and big fish"!

Thanks ladies! An update on my project.... I made my first trip to GOG today and spent an hour and a half there, just looking around at their massive inventory of everything and meeting a couple of the salespeople. I left a copy of the mounting I''d like with them and Amy (Jon''s daughter) is going to bring home two very similar mountings for me to see when she goes into the city next week. They''d prefer to deal with a vendor they use often, so if I don''t like the mounting, they can return it easily. It seems that it would be difficult to make a return to Adwar because they don''t use them on a regular basis. They''ve assured me that they''ve seen very similar mountings to what I had my heart set on. We''ll see how close they are to my first choice when they bring them in.

I also had a pesky prong on my e-ring adjusted while I was there for no charge. That was very nice of them!

I was like a kid in a candy store as I watched Amy show a man a gor-gE-O-SO stone across the store. She put two stones up on the 30x and a little voice inside my head kept shouting pick the one on the right!!! I would have died happy to have that killer stone on the right! It was a very nice size and cut beautifully.

And while I was there......... oh I am always getting myself into trouble........ I choose a necklace for my husband to buy for me for Christmas. 18K yellow gold, heavy solid baby cable link chain with four little fleur de lis paved with gorgeous little diamonds..... Expensive but very nice. I have to try to find a picture of it to post.

Thank God my husband spends a lot on his fishing.
