Hi. I am looking to buy an engagement ring. My girlfriend wants a yellow gold ring. I've been told that allows me to go down in color a little, because the diamond will bring in some yellow light from the yellow gold. I just looked at a round 2.11 i si1. It's an excellent cut, excellent symmetry and very good polish. It registers a 1.8 on Holloway Cut Advisor. My concern is it being an i and not a triple x. Originally I looked for a triple x and g-h. I am wondering if I should buy this stone though. The price with setting (14k yellow gold straight band with diamonds 3/4 the way down the band and a cushion halo) is $19,000.00. I thought that was a little high for an i that isn't triple x. I was originally told the diamond is $18,000.00 and they could give me the setting for $1,500.00. Then I was told the entire piece with the setting would be $19,000.00. Can anyone please let me know if this is a good stone and price? I greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
