New Barry Bridgestock Amethyst!

Hi guys,

Here are some pics of an amethyst I got from Barry. It is from Uruguay, and is 6.9 mm. The stone has awesome flashes - pink/red under lights, and blue in daylight. I love it!!!! I''ll start with my favorite pic...

Love that deep purple. You can definitely get a sense of the red flashes too. so pretty! any setting plans yet??

Thanks! It flashes so many colors.

I am thinking of doing that LOGR solitaire with the side bezeled diamonds, in rose gold. It has become a popular setting. The only thing I''m worried about is getting it set - I need to find out if my jeweler can do it. Will they need rose gold around to set it? [I really have NO idea how that works...]

If you have an amethyst....what color metal did you set it in? I think it looks good in all colors and it''s hard to decide!

I rather like amethysts in yellow gold settings, but i''d be most curious to see what it looks like in rose gold, if you go that way!

Gorgeous amethyst - I love all the purples and blues! For me personally, I would set it with a white metal to show off the intensity of those rich colors, but it would suit most any color I think - depends on what you really like. It will be lovely!
