Okay, what in the name of all that is blingy is going on here?

I looked at this and at first noticed there is a variety of prong styles, almost like a practice piece for someone. THEN there is that additional little claw which creates a five prong ring. I have never seen anything like this.

Is it supposed to be artistic? Totally perplexed :eh:

Maybe that head was designed for a pear shape? It wouldn't be out of the realm for some hack to re-use a head mount. That prong looks like it was badly retipped!
Or maybe the maker was stoned.
It's a Frankenring!

Bahhahahahahahah

if Frankenstein had a cousin :confused:

I feel kind of bad for it
Like I want to say to it “who did this to you and were they having a bad day?”

@stracci2000 I guess if we have to give it a category but this isn’t even purposeful looking. Maybe accidental brutalist

@autumngems, I hear you and I also can’t believe someone is selling it like that. Pop it into a pendant setting, I don’t see anyone buying it as is.

This definitely wasn’t a happy accident, it looks like someone didn’t know what they were doing or a practice piece :lol-2:

Buy that thing and rescue the stone.
Then trade in the gold.
Gold is $1795 right now.

$2800 for that ring and the diamond is 70 points
:eek2::snooty:

I paid less for my 1.18 old mine cut!

Thaaaat looks like some of the artistic interpretations I've been seeing on the 'gram and Etsy.
It's on purpose, and supposed to be avant garde.
I also see you all had the same reaction I did to this style.
Which is, mmmh
NO.:twisted2:

Practice piece that someone decided to sell to recupe some of their long hours of artistic vision, skills and labour?! Just kidding. It's a bit of a train wreck on the way to the scene...

ETA: For some reason, this thread has me literally laughing out loud! Thanks for the laugh!

Here is the “never have I ever” for today.

It seems like the idea is if it doesn’t fit just turn it upside down?! This is topaz so that pointed culet doesn’t stand a chance. All I know is there is no way I would be rocking a giant topaz boob on my finger

In the words of Ozzie Man, "Yeah, nah."

I almost feel like that culet has already been chipped. It doesn't look as pointed as I'd expect

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it was and when I zoom in it’s a good possibility. I’m rather surprised it’s not worse for wear to be honest.

 Tsk. You people have no appreciation for nuances of a good villain ring.
This thing is perfect for taking out multiple eyes or trapping a soul.

:lol-2:My god, that's terrifying. You wonder at the mindset when this was being made. It took time. Honestly, I would probably love it and never let them forget that a quick spell is alllll it will take. "Shall I get the Horcrux out then, hmm?"

I thought "reverse-set" was all the rage now? Hemmerle and their kooshball-looking earrings, etc. I guess I do not think of it for a solitaire like that.

Great for "keying" a car, if you're the type.

Is it? I am not with the times apparently

:eek2: @ that dog brooch.
