Hi all, I'm new here and I'd like to hear your views on this diamond: 0.68 carat, VS1, G, Ideal 0 (AGS). Please see the images attached.

Also, I want to know, whether the diamond would be worth US$4.3k today? This is the quoted price, which I have paid a deposit for. I still have perhaps a week of time to change my preference if I'm not happy with this one. The scope images look perfect, though the computer generated ASET image on the cert would disagree. I have seen the diamond in person myself and probably think that the diamond looks great as great as the actual images, but with my untrained eyes.

Thank you all for your help, really appreciate it. I'm planning to propose next month:)

Welcome to PriceScope, toproposesoon!
The proportions and advanced images look wonderful.

$4300 appears to be on the steep side of pricing, even for bona fide super ideal cut diamonds...this will also depend on where you are located at and if the price includes any added taxes and fees.
If you live somewhere that has a heavy value added tax in the 15-25% range and the price reflects that, then it may be a fair deal.

I agree the price seems quite high. The stone looks great, but the price seems steep.

Looks to be well-cut but I agree with others...price is too high!

It's gorgeous. Is it a JannPaul?

Thanks everyone for your input!

I'm from Singapore, where there are no import taxes on diamonds but VAT of 7%. Prices are also typically higher here, so maybe the price will be closer to fair than pricey? Also glad that the diamond is of good cut and the general consensus is just the price being 'steep' instead of being ridiculous or something along the line. As a result, I have decided to take this piece.

And yes, the diamond is from Jann Paul. I am amazed that you picked it up, Kim! Are you from Singapore too?

No, I'm not, but you're lucky to be so close to their location! They have amazing diamonds, and yours is no exception. I recognized the photography. :)) Congrats on your purchase!

Great, I'm really glad. Surprised of Jann Paul's recognition in the diamond community. I initially thought it was just more well known among only Singaporeans or tourists. Thank you guys!
