Need Your Help, Red Or Blue?

I''ve been selling off quite a bit of my jewelry collection and want to have Dover Jewelry create a ring for me. Here is the ring I want in the ruby version. The photo is small, but you can see what I''m aiming for.

The center stone is an asscher, 1 ct. I believe. I''m trying to decide upon the ruby or sapphire version and what size center stone to go with.

Do you think a 1.5 ct. asscher would be too big for the size of the smaller diamonds in the mounting? Should I stay with the 1 ct.?

I''m sure if you want to use a 1.5ct they can just adjust the melee accordingly, no?

I think a 1.5 carat would look lovely - if anything it would just make everything else look more delicate, which is rarely a bad thing, IMO

Another vote for larger Asscher and ruby. You already have a lovely sapphire and diamond.

I vote sapphires, but I'm a huge blue fan. But the 1.5 asscher for sure. I don't like the princess as much, since it's a more modern cut and the setting is more antique.

Either way, it will be beautiful.

Ruby! and honestly I think the size of the diamonds etc. would be perfect w/ 1.5 carat center, as is.
