I need the help of all Pricescope members!

Just confirmed the purchase of a Tacori engagement ring, just need the diamond now. I need to find a princess with an ideal/excellent cut with the following:

Princess Cut - Ideal or Excellent Cut
Carat 0.7 - 0.8
Minimum of 4.80 x 4.80 MM Length X Height
Price range approx. $3,000, as close to $3,000 is ideal.
Min VS clarity
Min G colour

Would appreciate if you guys can help me find an amazing diamond for me to propose!

So far I have found the following:

They are a bit over the budget. Could make it work but ideally not much more than $3,000 is best. Out of these options which one is best value? Also, if you guys have seen anything else that is more affordable and just as nice, please let me know!!!

Thanks!

If the budget can take it I like the last one. I also like #1.

Found these two from a local supplier. I don't think it's as nice as the ones above but its still AGS ideal cut, are these okay too?

The local .76 is the biggest, that one.

Those 2 at your local supplier are interesting, though the facets might be too large to get great scintillation. It will definitely be very bright. Did you see them in person? How did they look? How was the price?

Found this on BGD. It's listed as an eye clean SI1. I'd contact them and see if it'll satisfy your definition of eye clean.

I didn't actually see it in person, just got the AGS cert from him. AGS grades princess cuts, so is it safe to assume that the AGS ideal princess cuts should at least be of good quality and of good standards?

BGD really have some really nice ones. I like this one you have attached too. Ideally would be nice to have a VS or better

Biggest doesn't mean nicest though, or does it in this case?

They are all top of the Ags ideal grade, and the larger facets in this smaller size will give it more pop. Larger is definitely better.

How about compared to the ones in the links I sent above?

Thanks

What do you guys think of the AGS certs I attached in this post?

The first two WF ones and the two local ones are pretty similar, but 8-10% bigger is the biggest difference. If they are closer to your price target of 3K, it is a no brainer.

The ASET of the Brian Gavin vs White Flash/Local Dealer ones are quite different. Is there a difference of how it looks? The Brian Gavin one looks a bit more chaotic. And feedback or ideas of how they would look in person would be greatly recommended. Thanks

BGD is 3 chevron, so more numerous but smaller flashes compared to the 2 chevron.

What is 3 vs 2 chevron? just how many flashes it has?

What looks nicer? I guess that is preference right?

Preference. Have you seen the local ones?

No I haven't. They will have to order it in. They may be able to get a photo of the diamond for me.

I like defined and orderly lines/designs in the diamond. Some princesses just look so chaotic on the inside. From experience looking at ASETs, what do you think the local ones will look like?

Thanks so much.

Then go with the 2 chevron, they tend to be more clearly defined.

I'm assuming that the 2 chevron is the local ones?

How do you tell if they are 2 or 3 chevron?

Thanks

Yes, they are.

Look at the pavilion view clarity plot. On one side, outside going in, count how many chevrons there are before you get to the X in the middle.

Thanks, learned something new today :)

I guess if I went with the AGS ideal cut, I can trust that the diamond would be really nice even without seeing it in person?

Are they forcing you to commit to buy before even seeing the stone?

Yes, it is an AGS 0, so it is definitely going to look great. AGS 0 encompasses a lot of different looks, so you might have preferences that lead you to pick one over another, but they will all look great.

No but I already bought the ring and would like to know the measurements of what I am getting by end of this week. I guess I could postpone the ring but I would rather not if I can avoid it. I'm still going back to the store too see some stuff in person but I was just wondering if I ended up getting something AGS ideal that I haven't seen before, could I trust that it would look nice?

Thanks. I like the designs that have very nicely defined lines/reflections (I'm probably not using the right words) and have a defined pattern to it. I've seen some princesses that are very sparkly but looks quite chaotic. Not very appealing to me. I guess if I were to go off just the AGS cert, safe to say that the 2 chevron ones are much more likely to look like that?

Thanks JulieN

Any opinions or any other advice on the AGS certs that I received?

Thanks

What is the cost of the 2 AGS stones you attached? As JulieN noted, if it's closer to your $3k budget than the WF stones, go with them. If they're more expensive, you'll have to figure out how important size is to you.

I agree that 2-chevron is the way to go for you.

Sounds like the 2 AGS stones I attached are no longer available. May be best for me to go with WF....

Anyone in Canada ordered from White Flash before? Please share your experience of the process. How long did it take to arrive? How much duty/taxes did you have to pay?
