My girlfriend has a very good idea in regard to the ring she wants. In fact, I''m including a pic of the ring she likes. The center diamond is 0.5 carats, and she would love to see a similar ring that has either a 0.75 or 1.0 carat center diamond with the halo.

She loves the halo, and she thinks she wants a bigger center diamond, but she has tiny fingers (size 4 1/2) and is concerned that the halo around a bigger diamond might possibly engulf her finger.

Unfortunately, none of the places we have gone to has been able to produce a similar ring with a 0.75 - 1.0 carat center diamond AND the halo around it for her to try on.

Does anybody have a ring with the halo and a 0.75 - 1.0 center carat? Anybody with small fingers have a similar ring? I''d love to have some pictures to show her so she could at least see what the ring would look like on someone''s finger. She loves the long, skinny cut of the radiant.

I hope all this makes sense. This is my very first post, and I came across this page while doing a little research and it looked like it would be useful in my quest to buy my girl the perfect engagement ring! Thank you!

Mine isn''t quite like it, but I have a rectangular cushion 1.00 carat with a halo and I have a 4.75 ring finger. I love the finger coverage mine gives me so I''ll post as soon as I get home!

That sounds like it''ll give us a great idea, thanks! Also, do you think that the halo setting complements the center diamond well? Did you ever have any concerns with the halo taking away from the center diamond''s sparkle?

These pictures were just taken today. Hope they help you make a decision.

And my ring is from Henri Daussi. You could check out his website: http://www.henridaussi.com/

And if you find a retailer near you, you can try out one of his designs. I live in FL and my setting was purchased in GA. Diamond was purchased in GA, but not from the same store, and mailed to WA where my Fiancee lives. He contacted the store where the setting could be purchased and paid them in GA then mailed my cushion diamond to NY where Daussi has his studio. Daussi then mailed the completed ring back to the store in GA and GA mailed it to my Fiancee in WA in time to propose to me the following month in Fl. Yup, the diamond and ring has earned it''s skymiles for sure! Everything was done through the mail for my Fiancee, and I LOVE my ring! Daussi will set any shaped stone into it''s settings so you can put an oval, a radiant, a round, or whatever you want to use.

As for your question, I think that my ring is perfect for me! I love the finger coverage I get. There are quite a few people in real life who think my ring is bigger than a carat. I don''t think that the halo detracts from the overall look of my ring or my diamond. For some, mine would be considered borderline since the halo is quite prominent in my ring. I''ll post a pick of Purelily''s and you''ll be able to see the difference. With hers, the halo looks more delicate.

This is Purelily''s ring and she wears a 5.5 and her diamond is .94 carat in a Harry Winston replica.

I hope this helps you out!

I think it would look lovely. As seen in the two diamond rings above. The funny thing is I looked at many many Daussi rings and was going to suggest you try looking at them!!

Google them and find an authorized retailer near you and spend your time trying on rings to see what she likes in person. And just have FUN with it.
