Oooh, I like this idea. Complete the transaction of wiring money and refunding the CC, with the agreed upon condition that if an appraiser finds the stone to be not as advertised then you can get your money back. You should probably have an appraisal done anyways for insurance purposes (I sent my diamond to David Wolf and was very happy with his thoroughness - https://justappraisers.com/)Forgot to add, I don't think I would recertify it. I would have a trusted (hopefully independent) appraiser confirm that it is the same diamond as the GIA report and in the same condition.
