I am terrible with this. I have had this yellow diamond for...2 years? I haven't been able to find ANYTHING I want to do with it.

Enough is enough. I need to get this set. Getting it into a ring is my 30th birthday present from my husband (well...this or a 20 pt eternity band, I'm still a bit undecided there, lol).

Anyway, the stone isn't particularly small - it's 6.84 x 6.34. But after wearing a 10mm stone every day, it feels a bit puny. So no stand-alone solitaire settings or I'm afraid I'll be underwhelmed by how it looks on my hand.

My problem really seems to be that every halo ring I find looks just like every other one. They're all clones. I want something different, something that really captures my interest. Does anyone, for the love of all that is good in the world, have an idea of something that won't cost the moon and doesn't look like every other halo ring in every chain store of America?

How about one of those antique clusters? I think they are also called flower rings?
Do the shank a split plain shank in yellow gold, the metal for the flowers in platinum. Unique, can't be too expensive from the right person, and beautiful.
 
Thanks so much for the ideas so far, I'm glad others can think outside of the box a bit. The Maytal one is very, very pretty!

That Tiffany one looks familiar - I think I saw it when we were in NYC last week, but the innermost halo on the one I saw was alternating white and yellow melee. I loved it immediately, and wanted to take a photo...but couldn't work up the courage to ask if I could. :nono: The workmanship on it looks so fine, I don't know if I could afford to have it replicated well enough.
 
How about a 3 stone? or graduated 5 stone? Or stick it in an antique halo setting?
 
Did you notice this ring (I tried it on during a wedding anni mini-break)?

What I appreciated most about this ring was the yellow diamond halo.
In this ring, it is a double halo, you might not pick it up from the photo.
Would you consider a yellow diamond halo? :)

Also it had an airline, which I enjoyed in this ring, it was very delicate.

And of course I loved that it was set in yg.

I hadn't considered setting it in yellow gold (well, not all over - I was planning on having the head in yellow gold, as the stone is shallow and has a tilt window that would show through a white metal). That's something to consider. I've never been a big yellow gold fan, but as I've gotten older I've found myself more drawn to it. A completely yellow creation might be interesting!
 
I've saved this ring from Diamonds by Lauren.. I love this ring.. I think it would make an awesome right hand ring.. I also think that the yellow cushion with 2 side emeralds in yellow or rose gold would be awesome also. Your stone is beautiful.

here are a few vintage ones I'd like with a tweak for your stone.

Make the french cut sapphires in this picture yellow maybe? maybe even another color who knows. I dont know how crazy you want to go.

might be a little hard to replicate with a cushion but this would be cool all white or with one of the rows a different color.

i think this is one of the rings from the titanic. Id reduce the radius of that halo, but the idea is cool.

Thee stone! Stree Stone! Three Stone! With very white sides! Yum yum yum. Would be a nice alternative when you don't want to wear the doorknob.
 
There are some gorgeous rings posted here! I love the Tiffany Enchant one that mom2boys posted, but yes, that would be a Victor or Steven job for sure.

I think she needs some kind of halo-type setting because she'd be wearing it with a huge e-ring on the other hand!!!

With a more traditional halo, it does make the center stone look much larger when the halo closest to the stone is yellow diamonds and then the outer halo is white diamonds.
