I promise to look no further after this final comparison :)

Diamond I bought:

Diamond I am considering: Assuming the medium fluorescence doesn’t matter, and the SI2 comes back eye clean…

The GIA report is unreadable on bluenile so they sent me to this
http://www2.gia.edu/reportcheck/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.showReportVerification&reportno=6102643233&weight=0.91

I purchased the small diamond, but am curious how this other one will compare. The pricescope cutadvisor shows the large stone as ''excellent'' in all but one category. The .87 gets ''very good'' in all categories. YET the smaller (.87) is a GIA excellent cut, the larger (.91) is a GIA very good cut.

What does everyone say? Purchase the other and compare the two together? Be happy with what I have? Will the medium blue fluorescence be the deal breaker?

On paper and in my hand the .87 is great (slightly deep sure, but great). But the only ''very good'' in all categories on pricescope advisor has me wondering.
On http://gemappraisers.com/oldcutgrade.asp the .87 does better however (on pavilion)

Help me put my mind to rest :) and thank you

I like the numbers on the stone you have in hand better for a ring--a 40.2 pavillion is just too shallow (might be OK for a pendant, but not a ring). Also the diameter difference is just .1mm, even if you set them side by side unmounted, it would be tough to say which is bigger, so going bigger in weight is not really gaining visual size.

Keep in mind that the HCA is attempting to make a prediction based on averages of only 16 facets. It cannot take into account the "minor" facets that in reality have quite a bit to do with overall performance and look.

You say you are happy with the performance of the diamond you have, so be happy with it and quit looking at others!

I will let a few others chime in, but I sure appreciate the opinions. Its hard for a new person to this to understand everything RIGHT NOW :)
