hi everyone, this is my first post! i checked this stone out on the pricescope tool and it seems okay, but i was wondering what your thoughts were...

GIA
Carat Weight: 1.21

Color: F
Clarity: VS2
Depth: 62.6%
Table: 55.0%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Medium to Slightly Thick

thanks in advance!

Could you please post the crown and pavilion angles for this diamond?

Thankyou!

Yep, angles would be good. But the 62.6% depth seems a little much to me. Might just be my bias for slightly flatter stones.

Some do have a preference for shallower depths, 62.6% is my personal cut off preference ( as I have a gorgeous diamond with that depth which still spreads well) but others may prefer more around the 60 - 62%. My opinion is this depth need not be an issue providing the rest of the proportions work well.

Joshua, get those angles please if you can, then we can go from there.

Can''t tell without the crown and pavilion angles. I agree with Lorelei that depth may not be an issue if the stone is well cut. FICs are also usually a wee bit deeper to get a steeper crown angle to reflect back that fire.

Good point.

thanks everyone, i must have deleted the angles when i edited my post...sorry. here they are...

Crown angle 33 degrees
Crown height 15%
Pavilion angle 41.2 degrees
Pavilion depth 43.5%

No FIC.

The crown angle is complimentary to the pavilion angle, so that''s good. Is this stone online, or in a retail store?

it''s in a retail store, or rather, the jeweler can bring it in for me if i make a deposit. i just thought that the crown angle seemed a bit shallow...

Well, compared to what we tend to buy around here, it is. It works with the pavilion though, that''s why the cutter went for that.

Ideally, I''d like to see it closer to 34 with a slightly less PA. Say 40.9-41. But, if you really like this one, and the price is right, you could always get it and have an independant appraiser have a look at it. Just make sure, if you want to go that route, that you buy it contingent upon a good report, with an allowable return time, for a full cash refund. NO store credit.

I actually posted that more for the OP. I didn''t want him searching a ton for an FIC.

I knew you would know that it wasn''t.

thanks, it''s sellling for $9950 cdn. I have to make a $200 deposit to bring it in, with no pressure to buy. The deposit will go towards the ring in the end. any more thoughts/suggestions?
