I just had my ring appraised and was wanting to get some feedback from some of you. Now, I don't have any of the measurements in front of me so I know this can't be extremely accurate from what I am asking of you.

The diamond is a round brilliant, 1.85 carats, E color, VS2 clarity and excellent cut.
The setting has 46 small diamonds (vintage style setting) that total 0.86 carats in range of F-G color, SI1 clarity, and is platinum.

My question to you is: what do you think this ring should be appraised for? Does high 20's sound accurate?

My concern about my appraisal is that I was figuring the center stone alone was going to be worth that much. I could be mistaken, but that is why I am asking you. Sorry for not having the measurements with me!

Sorry, I forgot to add that the diamond has medium fluorescence. However, I got lucky because the stone is not milky/oily whatsoever, even with the high color grade. This could be one of the reasons as to why the appraisal was lower than I was expecting?

From your description it sounds just about right. My 1.70 G VS2 ideal cut round set in 18k white gold antique engraved mounting with no diamonds was appraised for 20k. I would say yours should be valued, without seeing anything, or course should be high 20's to lower 30's imho. :wavey:

Talk to your appraiser and ask them to explain their conclusions. It's part of what you paid them for.
