I am looking at an oval 3 stone engagement ring. The center stone is .81 E VS2, depth=66.6, table=61, 6.98x5.27. The side stones are .58 total weight, F VS2. The total price is $4500 (platinum settng). Two questions: is this a good deal? and is the proportion of center stone (.81ct) to side stones (.58ct) good? It's hard to tell since the stones are loose. Please help! Many thanks.

.81 crt E-VS2 GIA graded oval can cost you about $3,200 plus $1,300 settings... Sounds good assuming good quality of the ring and correct diamond grading.

0.58 TCW side stones are ok for .8 center. This 3 oval stone ring designed by Vatche has OV .45-.55ct TW sides for 0.75 center

I''m designing a 3-stone oval ring for my GF and would like your opinion. What do you think about the prices for the following, and how do you think it will look? She doesn''t want the traditional 3-stone oval look, i.e. all 3 stones are similar in size as in the picture above, rather she wants the center stone to stand out more.

1.15 G/VS2 oval- $5750
.50 tcw G/VS1 ovals (sides)- $1,500
Custom platinum ring, baskets, square shank- $1300

Thanks!!
