Need loose diamond opinion

Hi to all,

I'm looking to buy an engagement ring for my gf and was wondering if i could get an opinion on the following loose diamond?

Princess cut
Carat: 1.5
Color: g
Clarity: vs2
Table: 68%
Depth: 77%

However the gia report shows a chip inclusion on one of its corners. Is this a diamond i should stay away or a good deal for $9k?

I'm a newbie to all this but so that i can better understand your comment, is the reason because any chip inclusions can lead to possible fractures down the road?

YIKES! Princess corners are already fragile. Having one with a chip already there is just asking for that corner to break off.

Did your lady specify a princess or did she want a square stone, generally?

She prefers a princess cut diamond.

What are your thoughts on a Princess cut with a table/depth of 73%/72.7% or 73%/71.2%? All other characteristics being equal to the first diamond i was looking at. Will these still have a good sparkle to them?

Ive read that the table should be smaller than the depth.

Unfortunately, numbers do not tell us anything about fancy cuts. There are just too many other variables. Close up pictures,
aset images and videos help. If you have any, please post.
