Need input on earring design

I saw the attached earrings on David Klass’ Instagram and love them. I asked David if they could be made as jackets so that I could also wear the diamonds as plain studs and he said yes.

I’m going to have the jackets made in 18k peach gold and will be sending David loose diamonds. So he will also need to create a basic setting for the diamonds themselves.

My question is would you have the diamonds themselves set in white gold or peach gold to match the jackets?

I liked these too when I saw them! Is that picture peach gold?

If I were doing it I think I would set the diamonds to match but I really don't think either way would look bad.

I didn't confirm if the picture was peach gold but I've been wanting something in peach gold for a while so this was a perfect opportunity to get something.
 
I would do the studs in white gold..I wouldn’t feel the need to match it. I would want the prongs on the diamond to fade away so you just see the diamonds...not the peach prongs…
 
Another vote for white gold prongs.

I love the setting! Reminds me of the Clover from JbG. So pretty in rose gold!
 
Well the diamonds have been purchased - 1.72 ctw E VS1/VS2 distinctive hearts and arrows lab grown diamonds (Jonathan at Distinctive Gem was very helpful and responsive even while on vacation) - and are in DK’s hands now.

I asked DK to do a cad of these earrings in a 5 “petal” design as an alternative to the original 4 “petal” design I posted above. And now I’m torn as I really like both.

Decisions, decisions.

Ok 5 petals it is. What do people think about doing the inner visible surface of the petals in a brushed finish instead of a shiny finish?

Found something like this as an idea of what it could sort of look like.

I just got the finished photos of the earrings and the tracking info for the package indicates they should arrive tomorrow ON MY BIRTHDAY - wheeeee! I decided to get them made as fixed studs rather than jackets. I waffled on that for a while but ultimately decided it was the setting that initially caught my eye and I've tended not to wear plain studs I've had in the past. Thank you! These were in the works for about a month now so it's just a sweet little coincidence that they will actually arrive on my birthday.
 
did you end up going shiny or brushed? hard to tell from picture, love them and happy birthday!

Thank you for the info, I had considered doing this with a 1.41 ctw pair of studs I have when I saw it on the instagram, may do it in the future!
 
Oh gosh - they are here and I totally love them. So hard to get good ear shots but I like that the design is relatively subtle when on the ear.

I included a picture of them compared to my pink gold Cartier Love wedding band and a 14 kt gold knot earring to see how the peach gold looks and they don’t jump out at you as being obviously not yellow gold but they are somewhat softer than the yellow gold which is perfect.
