My ering is a .4ct RB solitaire. I don''t wear it anymore (a claw broke and I got my Asscher 3 stone, which I wear instead). I feel bad about not wearing my ering, and mentioned an upgrade to DH. He is offended by the prospect, and has a sentimental attachment to the original.

So, my compromise is a re-setting of the e-ring. I want to add a lot more bling to it, but I need to keep the original stone as a central feature, so as to keep DH husband happy. I was thinking about a 5 stone ring (with 4 more rb) or adding some sapphires. I don''t really like RB stones, but I am worried that the ring would look funny if I added stones that did not "match" the original.

Can anyone provide some ideas???

What about keeping the center stone as the focus and adding halo? Or even doing a three stone ring and halo'ing all the stones? That would be a lot more bling for sure, but still keep the center the center, if you know what I mean. I also like the idea of using sapphires as the side stones in the halo'd three stone design to add even more emphasis on the center stone.

A 5 stone ring would be nice keeping your original stone in the center and maybe add 2 sapphires as the 2nd and 4th stones. You can bling it up with a nice anniversary band.

What about setting the stone into a pendant instead of a ring? A .40 stone is about the perfect size for an everyday pendant!

Here''s a 3-stone halo idea w/ sapphires:

Doing a halo around the center and sidestones kinda changes the look of the RB (I''ve seen similar styles with pear sidestones also):

I love this look (I don''t like this particular ring as the sapphires look unevenly set)... I thought Ritani made a nice version, but I don''t see a pic of it right now .

This was my initial thought as well.

I also like the saphire halo idea/pic sera posted.

Sera, where did you find the sapphire halo design? I love that, and I think it would give me the bling I want. Thanks for the response!!!

That ring in the pic is sold ''as is'' with a .50ct diamond already in the center.

I cannot for the life of me remember the designer or the website I saw the sapphire halo I loved... it''s driving me crazy! I thought I had seen an emerald version as well. I''ll keep looking... maybe someone else will see this thread and know where there is a setting.

There is also this emerald halo, which I absolutely love. (ETA: It's by Leon Mege and here is another.)

I still cannot find the other I was thinking of.

I also love the halo pendant DS posted.

Another vote to make it into a pendant. I have a .45 martini set pendant and love it and wear it daily.

I also think it would be perfect in a pendant.

Hmmmmm... pendant with a halo is looking very appealing. This would get a bit more bling to the little gal, and would avoid the challenge of finding a mate in a 3 or 5 stone ring.

My other idea is a 5 stone ring, with 3 diamonds and 2 sapphires (or reversed). But then I need to match a diamond (or 2) to my current one, and I am not loving that idea. Not only is it not a great cut, but the colour is low - I can notice it quite a lot when I hold it against my D/E stones.

Pendant is in the lead... Any more discrete (so daily wear) halos for a pendant, ladies?

I think that a pendant is a lovely idea! I am also thinking about resetting my .62 pear, which is my original e-ring stone, into a pendant of some sort. Right now I have it in a plain YG solitaire, but when I wear it on my left hand and my 3 stone on my right I feel too blingy! I know, i know...the horror! But I am a mom of three and I do not do anything too glamorous in my everyday life, so my blinged out hands just don''t match the workout clothes that I tend to wear daily, lol!

You make me giggle! When I am in mommy mode (and not Litigator mode), I am in the usual mom uniform - Lululemon. Everyone assumes I work out......

Love your pear pendant idea. I think that if I was making a pendant "from scratch", it would be a pear. Lovely.
