Whats up everyone been reading on the forum and all the tutorials. As soon as I think I understand everything I realize I dont.

Been searching online here and on Bluenile. Why does everyone not like BlueNile?

I found a stone here locally. it is a AGS Ideal 0. Color H Cut VS2. 2.31 carat

Table 61.6 depth 56 It has a crown and pavaillin angle of 41 and 35.

On HCA it only rates a 2.2. Kind of dissapointing. But as I read more this has the mystery 41 and 35 angles.

I saw the stone in person it looked good but all stones have been looking the same to me lately.

What else should I do to see if this is a good stone? how do i get the Diam Calc images done?

Thanks in advance. \

look down the first page of Rocky Talky a little bit. 35/41 has been a pretty hot debate/discussion recently. I honestly am tempted to go change in my 34.6/40.7 for one right now sight unseen to take it and propose based on recent conversation and my own personal preferences...not that I am dumb enough to propose with a diamond I have never looked at:P but it looks like there really is nothing to worry about in regards to that combo ASSUMING all of the other numbers match up and the facets are consistently at 41 or slightly under, a few pluses and a few minuses, but all around a 0, as your report indicates, and with that indication the above mentioned variables should be inline.

Somehow or another, there''s a logic on this board that says if AGS gives it zero, it''s good enough for me.

See top of page 3...this thread.

Now...as they sometimes say in the westerns....

Come on...make my day.

Does that AGS include a zero for light performance?

Or....does it predate that reckoning?

Chances are guys on this board would be asking you questions, rather than the other way around if you have the goods.

------------

If you''re looking to optimize...getting the zero for light performance, not depending on the static charts for determining goodness, seem to be the more common preferred model.

Regardless...in the worst of cases, your option won''t be far from primo.

Sorry to have offered little help. Do you know if this AGS is a newer one, giving 0 for light performance?

Ha, you are probably right. I am so used to looking at these small diamonds online where about half of them were graded in the past 2 weeks. lol

Yes - we would like to know if it is an older report because it is rare to see these proportions with new light performance ags certs.
Also if the stone is small the girdle might be a bit thinnish

I have to check to see if the light performance is on there. I dont think it is because i remember the Cert being from 05 or early 06.

So, I have read through the other thread about 41 and 35 degree angles.

Do you guys thinnk it would be smart to buy this? What else should I check to see if this stone is a ideal performer? Or should I look at at purchasing a e-Stone? BlueNile seems to have comparable stones rated AGS0 and perform better on the HCA.

As stated in the other thread, it could be an incredible stone, or it might be only a wonderful stone.

No way it will be likely to be a dog, but as with every stone, it must be seen to be evaluated to YOUR eye. You may well prefer it to a stone that I would prefer.

Wink
