Long time lurker, first post.
First of all, let me thank this forum for the plethora of knowledge that is available for us newbies..

I've been looking for a quality cut RB around 1-1.2 ct range for some time.
Here are the details for the stone I am looking at. All checks out well, its a great price due to strong fluorescence(diamond's not milky/oily either).

Now I know this stone is not perfectly symmetrical looking at the hearts and arrow pictures, but I'm not sure how that would impact light performance/ brilliance.

Any and all feedback would be helpful
TIA

Can you get an idealscope image?

The H&A aren't perfect but they're very good, and to your eye you won't notice any small misalignment - it looks good.

That stone is reasonably symmetrical. Perfect symmetry doesn't always result in hearts and arrows or vice versa. Meet point symmetry and optical symmetry are two different things. A stone can be perfectly symmetrical having perfectly resembling imperfect hearts and arrows.

Slight leakage under the table....depends if you are looking for perfection or not.

There is slight leakage under the table but in most circumstances you probably won't notice if you ever do.

If you were fine with it not being a perfect super ideal H&A cut then I doubt the leakage will be an issue for you. Since you state the price is good I think it's worth buying and seeing what it looks like in person. Hopefully the place you purchase it from has a good return policy if it should not be to your liking.

Found another one, this is I color/vvs2/1.24 carat.
table: 56%
depth: 61.2%
crown 34
pav: 40.6
here's the ideal scope and ASET, does this look better than the previous one?

I prefer the 2nd stone over the first. Images look better.

The "slight leakage" would be less than 5% of the light in that area - if the color is half as intense then the effect is around 25% effect on light return.
There is a little painting in the stone that you mention as having leakage - but not enough to be noticeable in MHO

Thanks, so in your opinion, which one would be a better buy?

just to summarize,

1.12 Ct F/RB/VVS2 :
Depth: 61.5%
Table : 57%
Crown : 34.5
Pavilion : 40.8
Strong Blue fluorescence (The vendor says there are no negative effects of Fluoro, and there's a 30 day return policy)

1.24 Ct I/RB/VVS2:
Depth: 61.2%
Table : 56%
Crown : 34
Pavilion : 40.6

Both are virtually the same price, around $7K
All I want is a quality stone that sparkles under most lighting.

Dodgeboy,
As trade members we are not allowed to criticize or recommend another vendor's diamond. I understand that you are aware that the strong fluoro accounts for the fact that the stones are priced similarly despite the fact that the fluoro stone is colorless. However, the issue is not quite as simple as "oily or not, yes or no". If you have not looked further into this issue you can find an overview below. You would be well advised to understand this property well before you choose between these two stones.
https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/diamond-flourescence

I would also point out that the size difference puts the two stones in somewhat different categories from a value standpoint.

I like the second one, touch smaller table, a touch heavier in weight.
That's just my gut. Let us know what you choose!

My apologies, I wasn't aware of that. And thanks for the link, really helpful.

And a big thanks to the community for all the help, I ordered the 1.24 ct I color
The diamond would ship on 14th, keeping my fingers crossed.

Its finally here... I'll have to admit I was expecting 1.24 ct to look bigger
Here are a few picks:
Under normal lighting (dull office lights)

Under spotlight (single LED study lamp):

Feeling elated. Thanks for the help everyone.

Looks gorgeous, OP!
Congrats!!
Re size, you probably just got used to looking at the magnified images of the diamond.
And stay on PS long enough and your diamond will look smaller and smaller each month (or is it each day?)
