I am new to PS and when I found the ring Frankie on here had I feel in love! I know it was by VC and she had the setting changed and I have a few questions.

With the first picture below from one of Frankie's posts:

Donut- I like how this prevents the wb from sitting right next to the e-ring.
1. If I find a ring similar to this at a local B&M store that doesn't have the donut, would they be able to add it to the ring?
2. Do you actually see the diamonds that are on it? Or any part underneath the halo for that matter. I cant imagine you could, but insight is much appreciated. I feel like I could keep cost down by not adding the diamonds to that part.

With the second picture from VC website:
I love the flush look between the center diamond and the halo. IS there anyone who has something like this that can say how they like it? Also, is this something a jeweler at a B&M store would be able to alter on a "stock" setting or would I need a custom setting to have the center diamond sit flush against the halo?

The purpose of a donut is to add structural stability to the head of the setting (i.e., allowing it to resist greater torque without deforming or breaking). Thus, while adding a "fake" donut to a ring that doesn't already have one may be possible, it would defeat the purpose. Also, it would not result in the same look in profile and side views, as the struts from the halo would not attach to the (retrofit) donut, unless the head is completely reconstructed.

Not sure if I see what you're describing ("flush look between the center diamond and the halo") in the second photo. The first photo does show a beautiful alignment between the angled halo and the crown of the center diamond, however. Is this what you meant? This is a desirable look that requires considerable skill to execute properly. In my opinion, it will be difficult or impossible to alter a "stock" setting to get this effect.

This ring has been loved and bought by many here on PS. Victor Canera's level of craftsmanship cannot be had by altering a stock setting. I know this probably isn't what you had hoped to hear but it's just the truth. There are some lovely halo stock settings that you may find you love but they are not going to be an exact replica of this ring. Go back and search through all of Frankie's posts; she had rings made by others until she finally landed on this design with Victor. In her threads, she discusses the tilt angle of the halo that is a large part of what makes this setting work so well.

I would go with the Ritani over either of those. I also thought the Daussi one was dangerous with no struts and the stone was set too high. The rings in the last post are apparently not a brand name, and the first one costs almost the same as the Ritani ring in platinum and the second one costs more. They are also too thin in the shank at 1.5mm. That is dangerously thin especially when there are diamonds in the shank. I also like the way the stones are set better in the Ritani. Ritani is a nice quality brand and you really can't do much better for the price.
