I was hoping to get a princess cut diamond that matched the following: at least premium cut, Color G, Clarity VS 2, Carat around 1 3/4. Can any one give advice which of these stones would be best? I am novice at best and might be talking in riddles for all I know, but I checked the chart for princess cut and was trying to get a cut in class 1B. Also from what I have read for the most part with VS2, I shouldn''t have too many issues with the stone being "eye clean", am I right? I know you can only tell so much without actually seeing the stone itself, but any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Spata and welcome!

We really need detailed photographs to get an idea of how well these diamonds are cut, and preferably ASET images. Can you ask Abazias if they can send you photos of any of these diamonds? Then we can get a better idea.

Generally VS2 should be eyeclean with this lab and size diamond, but it never hurts to check. Also don't go by vendor applied labels such as Premium Cut, this is no guarantee of a well cut diamond.

I got a picture back for 57960421, but I don''t know how much it will help, they also included the followiing thoughts

our cameras are used more for photographing jewelery, so the lighting is mainly used to detect inclusions--not really to view the actual light performance. I was able to see the stone when it came in and it does have superior light performance. The color is nice and white and the size is very impressive--definitely eye clean!

I think I might be overfocusing on carat size and need to focus more on the cut..... but am I''m not sure what I can get my with my budget because based on what I have read the best way to know for sure with a princess cut is to get an AGS stone. I found one that comes close to what I want, and is slightly overbudget, but am having diffuclty finding comparable stones, can someone tell me if this stone is a good deal and how it compares to the bluenile stone

Thanks for the pic! It is hard to judge but it looks ok, hard to tell more than that from the pic as you say.

The Infinity is beautiful and I would far rather have that than the BN diamond as we really know nothing about the BN diamond....Cut is indeed critical for a diamond's beauty, AGS0 can narrow the target with cut, there can also be lovely hand selected GIA Princess from some vendors, who have all the info provided you could wish for.

Thanks for the help and advice about the Infinity, you also mentioned I might get a better deal if I find a GIA that is sold from a vendor who can produce detalied pics, from what i have heard whiteflash is one of them, can you suggest any others. Also is the infinity that I posted about the standard price I would usually pay AGS0 princess cut ?

You can certainly consider GIA graded Princess if sold from one of the trusted vendors who has all the info on the diamond. Here are some vendors who might be able to help.

www.highperformancediamonds.com

www.goodoldgold.com

www.whiteflash.com

www.exceldiamonds.com

Start with these vendors then we can widen the options if needed.

Prices can vary but Infinity prices are competitive for that quality of diamond. You could also adjust your colour and clarity options if needed a bit for the budget, maybe include SI1 if verified eyeclean and H colour ( GIA or AGS graded) - just a suggestion.

I have found a couple of GIA and AGS stones all with ASETs and most are in a simliar price range. If there is any advice about which one to go with I would apreciate it very much. It wil be 3 years for me and my girlfriend in the beginning of April and I finally have the money to get her a ring, so I''m not sure how fast I need to make a decision to get the ring ready in time, but hopefully I''m headed in the right direction. Thanks again for the help.

Not liking the WF stone.

The HPD stone looks good.

Of the GOG stones I prefer the 5474. I think this also has the largest face-up among the better stones.

The HPD or any of the GOG diamonds look good, it depends on budget and other preferences as to which you pick.
