Do you have a picture of the ruby?
What lab did you send the ruby to?
Did the lab actually run tests on it?
Labs can only guess if they cannot run tests on it. They will need the stone for detailed examination to give you a conclusive answer. If they did run tests on it, then I am very surprised at the inconclusive result.
YES they did run test on it, when i submited ,gublin OPT in 13th morning , returned it to me next day of 14th evening , but i cant say how long they did test during that period,
Strange that Gubelin isn't sure. Are you able to get more details from the lab? My guess would be that they need more sophisticated equipment back at HQ to give you a definitive answer.

In the case of some gemstones, a preliminary verbal opinion can be expressed based on a short analysis. This “Verbal” is a non-binding and informal opinion of the gemmologist based on very limited analytical indications. If the client requests a Verbal, the laboratory contacts the client before performing the full analysis, giving the client the option of halting the analytical process based on this preliminary information. In rare cases, the Verbal might differ from the final report. The Gubelin Gem Lab is not always in a position to offer a Verbal on an item.
I am making the assumption that that you did not request full testing, only a cursory examination and a preliminary verbal opinion. If you want a detailed examination and definitive answer, you'll have to request full testing and a lab report. Even the express service requires a minimum of 2 working days for an added fee.
I suspect that one of the Gubelin gemologists looked at the stone, had a suspicion that it wasn't natural and so ran a few basic tests and it came back as synthetic. If it is this one, the size and clarity would be enough to make the lab stop and think "maybe this isn't natural". Certainly in some of your photos there's evidence that it may not be natural (ie bubbles and general clarity). However, because Gubelin didn't run their "normal" battery of tests - which would cost more - they'll probably err on the side of caution and say it's not conclusive.
I strongly suspect that if you asked them to test further they will conclude it's synthetic.
Tariq for a lab to tell you that they suspect it to be synthetic, I would bet good money that it will turn out to be (sorry). If you look at your thread from 2009 I think the general consensus was that it was probably synthetic due to the size/clarity etc.
thank you very much LD for your conclusion.that conclusion mostly depends on the size and clearity
so this is the main issue

Ruby, sapphire, it looks like a synthetic to me. Send it go AGL before you attempt to fund your children''s education with the proceeds.

The colour looks a bit strange - could be the camera/lighting of course - but it could also be a different gemstone. As Mr ma re has said, it''s also very clean for a 9ct Ruby and a little too clear. You should definitely get this checked out but my advice is to go into that process thinking that it''s not a Ruby and then anything better than that will be a bonus.
LD as per your advise i did it ,so now i will follow you too. with my
