Hello everyone, First time poster after reading around A Lot! lol
Anyway I got a E-Ring for my soon to be and when we went shopping she liked the antique look, cushion cut, with halo.
I found a nice cushion I color VVS2 1.01 carat. I had it put in a platinum tiffany legacy type replica bc i know she likes the antique look and i like how the diamond is set inside almost so its safe in there (My gf tends to bump into things lol)
anyway I just wanted some peoples opinions. I Love the center diamond but I don't know if i should increase the size of the Halo stones and band. Just wanted some other peoples input before I do pop the question. I can bring it back to change if need be but take a look and you be the judge.
Background on her, She does not often wear jewelry and is very low maintenance, which makes me want to get her something nice. I just want to get opinions if i should get bigger halo or keep it simple and antique looking and upgrade it if she wants it larger

Thank you all for your time and help i really appreciate everyone on this site. Its a great community and happy to be a part of it.

In my opinion, I don't think you should increase the halo size. The center stone might get lost in the ring. I understand you want to maximize size, but if the center doesn't pop, I don't think it's worth it. It looks beautiful as is right now I think.
Also, I take some quick shots with my iPhone. Half of the pics in my SMTR post are shot with the iPhone. Don't use flash, and try to take pictures in sunlight, but standing with your back to the sun using your body as shade. If it helps for you, use the HDR mode.

I agree. I would not increase the size of the halo as the center stone will get lost. If you want the center stone to appear more prominent you could consider having the center prong set instead of bezeled but I wouldn't even change that.

Thanks for the speeedy replies I guess I just double guessing mysel after seeing so many different rings. I guess I felt it looked like ther was to much metal and couldn't see the pave well. I'm prob over analyzing it but thanks for the replies. If anyone else wants to chime in please do. I told the jeweler I would stop by later and discuss options available

Ok, sorry, I read your post wrong. I didn't read it as halo STONE, I read it as increasing the whole halo in general. Metal and all. Oops :saint:
I do agree that there is a lot of metal. And I think increasing the stone size might be a good idea. The jeweler is willing to remake your entire ring to accommodate this? Maybe also, because the center is bezel set, that with the halo metal together, it looks like a lot more metal than it is. Like MissPrudential suggested, how about using prongs instead of the bezel? I understand you said she is low maintenance and doesn't wear a lot of jewelry so maybe you feel the bezel is sturdier, but with the right jeweler, prongs would be amazing.

ETA: I just wanted to add, that in the end, you know her more than anyone on this site and you will make the right decision. But its like when you buy something and you're happy about it, but if you keep searching, you're always gonna find something else that pleases your eye and makes you question your decision.

Here are 2 pics taken just now with HDR def an improvement but do you still think the halo should be kept the same since you can barely see the halo.

Would a whole new ring need to be made? Can the jeweler just remove the pave stones already set and increase the size and reset them in there? I hope that would be able to be done, I doubt they will remake the whole ring from scratch, Got to speak with him today see what i can do. I love the center stone and love the size of the Halo (metal) but would like bigger diamonds for the pave around the center stone.

I think the halo is perfect as is. I really do!

I'm no jeweler and not an expert but if it were my ring, I would want the whole thing redone again. I feel that rings should be made the right size in the beginning and not be expanded or contracted. He may tell you it can be done, and maybe it can. But, it would bother me.

ETA: don't know why I didnt see your new pics. I think the new pictures look great. The first pictures, there seemed to be a lot of metal. But I like the new pictures. I think there is a good balance of metal and diamonds. I think it looks good!

I think your ring is beautiful and very balanced. Why don't you give it to her and then the 2 of you can decide together if you want to increase the size. She may think it's perfect exactly the way it is!

It's fine, that's what the Legacy looks like - it has quite a bit of metal around it. It's just the style. I'm sure she'll love it!

The halo is there to compliment the center stone - not overpower it. I think the ratio is fine the way it is - I wouldn't change a thing about it. I think she's gonna love the ring and I would certainly give it to her just as it is. If there are any changes to be made, decide on it together. I think you won't be able to pry it off her hand once she gets it! Very pretty ring - you did a good job!

I'm also one to say leave it as is. If you make the halo larger, it becomes disproportionate to the stone. This is NOT the effect you want! That would kind of seem like you were over compensating for halo diamonds... no...not necessary. Its just perfect as it is!

This is the original TIffany Legacy - shown with a 2.7ct from their website. The halo on your ring looks just the same - I'd leave it!

I think it looks absolutely perfect as is, I am sure she will love it!!!

This ring is amazing! I wouldn't change anything about it either. It's just gorgeous.

I am a confirmed lover of a halo that is bigger than the usual Pricescope-endorsed halo size, but I would NOT increase that halo size. It will make the halo too big in proportion to the centre stone. I think the halo size is perfect as it is now.

I love your e-ring! It's my e-ring's cousin! :wavey:

Agree with the others, halo size is perfect as it is! And I do think the ring would have to be remade to accommodate larger stones in the halo, which would be a hassle and probably cost extra :$$): . So I wouldn't worry about it at this point. If you were going for the legacy style it looks exactly how it's supposed to look. Sounds like you [put a lot of thought in picking it out for her. I'm sure she'll like it!
