I'm a newbie with this kind of stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have two links below and it seems like the JA diamond is better in nearly every category and is almost 1k cheaper. Is there anything I'm overlooking with the bluenile diamond that I should take into consideration for the price difference.

thanks!

I'm a newbie too, but hopefully I can be of help somehow. Between the two, on initial glance, the BN diamond is better looking. I'm going to copy and paste something from Sebastian Naturski's Diamond Teacher site http://yourdiamondteacher.com/reviews/james-allen-diamonds/

The [Blue Nile] diamond [...] has very clear and distinct pavilion mains that are black. This will give the diamond a much better contrast and thus the scintillation of that particular diamond will be quite high! Scintillation refers to the amount of perceived brilliance when the diamond is in movement.

When you rotate the JA diamond, it doesn't have that much sparkle or fire to it. Now, these things could be attributed to poor filming/lighting/whatever, but if I were to make a choice, I would choose BN.

Hopefully someone with more experience/knowledge can chime in too! In any case, good luck!

You need to request an aset image of the JA stone to make sure it has good light return. At this point I think it's questionable.

This has a different look but does look like it will have nice light return.

Here is a BGD stone that might be worth taking a look at also.

Good Old Gold carries H&A cushions so you might check them out too. The website is down right now so I cant see
if there is anything worth taking a look at.

Absolutely the Blue Nile diamond is better cut than the JA diamond, hands down.
