There’s a ring I like but I don’t know if the diamond is a good cut. I was trying to figure out the GIA report and does this diamond have a big spread? I love old cuts and can’t see it in person and needed some advice. Thanks8CB61E27-8B99-4591-8621-49D7E01AC729.png990946D5-5B48-428F-98D1-FC89D255D5A1.png

I love that ring but I really don’t think the centre stone is well cut - the view down through the top is a mess - there’s no petals or regular faceting. I think it’s too shallow and you’ve got some fisheye or something going on.

Where did you find this? What is the price? I found this one on ebay that is amazing and so similar!!!

It’s from Lang and it’s about $8,000

Just a comment on the ring soxfan posted, the marquise diamonds are very desirable in Art Deco rings and not as easy to find. It's also IMO priced well if you like that aesthetic

I don’t mind if an old diamond is a bit wonky but that one I just don’t care for. I can’t get over the weird center but the setting is pretty. The price is crazy.

Lang’s prices are generally on the high side. I would want a much livelier center.

I couldn’t place what was wrong with the center stone. I love the setting, I’ve been look for a setting similar. soxfan, thanks, it’s beautiful but not for me. I know it looks similar but you know how Art Deco ring are there all different in small ways. In a dream world it would be a antique cushion or old mine at least 1.25 ct. I’m looking for a specific style of Art Deco ring, I have one that got away about 10 years ago and haven’t found one like it

I'm about to drive but maybe try searching for "platinum Art Deco ring" on Etsy. I believe you might find something close to what you're looking for.

Sorry this is not the best pic, I grabbed it quick off IG but this one is around 6K (maybe less can't remember) and the center stone is a good size maybe 1.25 carats.

For $8000 I think you could have your dream ring recreated by one of the talented vendors recommended here.

I saw this a while ago on IG, I messaged the seller to see if it's still available and get the exact stats on it. I'll let you know when I hear back.

That is a lovely ring in your picture. I'm confident you can find an authentic piece for less than Langs with a better cut center diamond.

There are some great EBay sleuths on PS, not my talent, I'm more of an Etsy person but I will look around for you later.

My husband would say my superpower is finding things to spend money on lol!

Is that an old mine or cushion in the center?

@soxfan, are you thinking old mine? Small table puffy profile.

Ok..... so the loose stones here are all well-priced and well cut. David Klass can recreate the setting of the "one that got away." He is really really good.

These all have great center stones too, if you don't like the settings:

This one is gorgeous:

Is that an old mine or cushion in the center?

He told me it’s was a cushion mine cut, he’s not an expert in antique cuts

You guys are fast! Thanks

I don't want to overwhelm you but I also messaged a seller on IG about this one
