I saw a beautiful diamond on Whiteflash but when I researched feathers here it wasn't definitive if they were ok or bad. I was told that these were all internal feathers but after reading the thread here that defined all feathers as reaching the surface, that confused me more.

After the weekend, the diamond sold. I'm not sad about it, but would like to hear from some of the experts here what they thought of the diamond and if I should have purchased it. It will help me in the future.

It's my first post here but I've been reading here for a while now. Thanks in advance for your help.

.808 CT
F SI1
Depth 60.8
Table 55.5
Crown Angle 34.8
Pavillion Angle 40.7

It scored a 1 on the HCA

Also when talking with Whiteflash agent they said the diamond was eyeclean from the top and the side.

Hi James and welcome!

It looks like a great diamond and I doubt those feathers would have been an issue in any way as WF screen their stones carefully. You might find [/url] thread helpful, a while back I asked for expert opinions on feathers as there was some concern here over them, you could find it interesting reading.

Thank you Lorelei. I really appreciate you trying to clarify the issue. I read both of the large threads on feathers, but it didn''t seem definitive. Some members were fine with it while others felt the euphemism for crack was still a crack. I was really enthusiastic until I started researching and then ended up confused. Heh.

You are welcome!

I know its a grey area with feathers, the best advice I can give you is to work with a trusted vendor and if get an independant appraisal to give you further peace of mind.
