HI All,

I am in need of some help in searching out the perfect engagement ring. Here are some specs on one that I am looking at:
Shape:Signature Princess
Carat Weight:.91
Color: F
Clarity: VVS2
Measurements: 5.42x5.30x3.91
Depth: 73.8%
Table: 68%
Crown Height: 9.9%
Polish: VG
Symmetry: GD
Girdle: Thin to Medium

Price is around $4200. What do you all think?

Overall, I am looking for a big, clean, white rock in a platinum setting. With that information in mind, please provide some recommendations on specs for the perfect diamond for this newbie.

Thanks!!

Admittedly, I don't know a lot about princess cuts, but what I do know is that one of the respected appraisers here, Dave Atlas, has a pretty good cut grading chart on his website www.gemappraisers.com, and when I plugged in the numbers you gave, it said the stone was a 1A Ideal cut, with all characteristics falling within the 1A range. That definitely means the stone has some very good potential to be an amazing stone. Saying that, it's even harder to predict the appearance of a fancy stone by the numbers than it is a round stone. A 1A grade is definitely a good start, and it might be a good idea to have an independent trusted appraiser verify the characteristics of the stone, or at a minimum ask the vendor to provide an idealscope picture of the stone, if you're unable to view it in person. Good luck in your search.
