Diamond A or B and why?
They are the same price. Which is better the G GIA EX/EX or the H AGS0?

are there any pictures?

Sorry, no pics and the two diamonds kind of squished together. Hopefully this post is easier to read.

Well... based on only that info, if someone told me to choose one or go without entirely, I'd go with the AGS0 - at least then someone reliable has looked at and graded cut.

I'd definitely get myself to an appraiser and get some images before the return period ends, though.

It is not really possible to judge a princess or other fancy shape by the numbers alone. High quality photos and ASET images are necessary if the diamonds cannot be viewed in person. You asked in your other thread about WF vs. BN. This is why I prefer WF, they provide this information before purchasing, while BN does not.

There are no major red flags on the two you posted, other than Length/Width ratio. When you get around 1.05 and up, it can be visible that the diamond is not square. A lot of that will depend on how it is being set, as well.

I found a picture of the AGS0 H. I do not have a picture of the 1.23 ct G

Let me know if this changes anything.

How would you recommend this be set to combat the 1.05 ratio?

Solitiare (no halo), do not kite set, prongs not too chunky, depends on band width whether to set long side East/West (long side going same direction as band) or North/South, E/W is probably less noticable in most instances.

The biggest thing I personally notice with rectangular princess is the distance between the prongs once set. The square corner prongs that are generally used have a much smaller gap on the shorter side, but you can't adjust the prongs, because then that looks like poor workmanship.

I notice immediately in the photo which is the longer dimension, but honestly, not everyone will. You will have to decide how important it is to you and the one wearing it and how much it would bother you.

I would pass on the diamond that has fluorescence, even though its negligible. unless your really leaning towards that diamond, take it out in the sun and other outdoor scenarios. put it under every type of lighting that exists. fluorescence can make a diamond turn gray or glow or other weird stuff that you wont see under jewelry store lighting.

Please improve your knowledge before giving baseless advice. AGS minimum fluor grade is negligible fluor, they are of the opinion that all diamond has some fluor even when you cannot detect it. Anything below strong fluor, you will not be able to see the fluor effect unless you are in a dark room and shinning the stone with a black light.

Hi dflawless and welcome!

Actually negligible fluorescence will have no visible impact on the stone, rarely strong or very strong blue can cause a diamond to look cloudy in some lights but this is very unusual. Also with some strong or VSB fluorescent diamonds, these can show a violety glow that many find very attractive.

But for the stone mentioned here stabook there is no need to be worried about negligible fluorescence.
